Aha, Iam. I understand and agree. It doesnt seem to matter what you practice whether it be sports, healing etc etc but getting the self conscious ego out of the way seems to be a necessity for optimal performance.

In taijutsu (and martial arts per se) to respond effectively to an attack requires no-mind. To sense danger is the same. Musashi said that you had to accept your death to prevail, and thus have no attachment to whether you won or lost.

In the Western Magickal traditions the idea is to let go of the focus on results once the rite is complete.

In healing going into the emptiness/ being silent/allowing the universe to unfold as it will are fairly universal it seems.

The Christian, 'not my will but thine be done' is a nice phrase I think.

Hi Gallen

I think maybe its our limited human awareness that causes some of these problems? Definitely by our thinking/actions we 'flavour' the energy. Referring to our grandmaster again, he can hit you very hard and within seconds you are fine with no sign of injury. It seems his energy plays on many different 'levels' at once. I suppose the most practical thing we can do is just to love, be compassionate, and help where we can and not worry too much about intellectualising about these things? But I do love to unfortunately

take care
