Yes, your mind will think it reached its goal. But think of the possibilities if your goal was to be prosperous in your finances and business. A specific goal is good, however, if you tell yourself you will make $25 more per week...what if you could bring in $500 or $1000? Why set that limit for yourself? It's like saying, "My goal is to finish high school," because you think that is a more realistic goal, but what you really want, is to get a college degree. Getting the high school diploma is one step toward your desired goal. Don't put limits on yourself. Sometimes it's better to think of sub-goals to your major goal, goals that will get you to the end result you desire.

Remember, your thoughts and your goal statements work like instructions that affect your capabilities. Ultimately you need to take action and change what you are doing if what you are doing currently isn't making you happy. Paraliminals are a tool that can help you do this.

Make sure to review your day. What did you do that brought you closer to your goal? What did you do that might have hindered reaching your goal? Then tomorrow, you can use what you learned to move closer to your desired goal.

And, terrific comments AlexK!
