Hi everyone:

I have been enjoying the sun and moon meditations for quite some time and I had a flash of insight that maybe we should try the sun meditation with a bigger star. So I did some research and the biggest star is called the "Pistol Star". Now I found that to be quite interesting given the recent postings by JustCappy and his double fisted six-shooting swordfingers technique.

So I tried it today and WOW. What a blast. The Pistol Star has 100 times the mass of our Sun and putting that inside your body really is a jolt. Almost as good as Gallen on coffee!

Here's one of the websites which has a picture of the Pistol Star for you visualizers out there.

Have a happy and star-filled day,

Hi Agent B,
I like your creativity.. I do want to give you a few things to consider, before we lose you to another galaxy!
- Balance. The Sun and Moon meditations have to do with a few things. Yin and Yang. The sun and moon in a literal sense. Also a natural way to engage with natural cycles, regarding the ebb and flow of a day, or the moon's cycles, and also , an increased awareness of those energies, and your relationship to them. I would guess that these meditations are of Taoist origin, or, certainly utilize Taoist source. I have an image up in my studio, of a Taoist view of the human body. It is a copy of a very old scroll. It shows, for instance, the eyes of this body like collage, as the sun and the moon. A connection between us and those specific entities. We are, on Earth. We came here. Being here places us, 'in relationship', to this 'place'. The literal sun, has a special relationship with both the earth, and, this solar system. The moon, also has a 'very' special relationship with the earth, and perhaps, in a subtler way, the rest of the solar system. The Taoists, for instance, although these ideas are also of basic content to other sources/traditions that studthinied the truth involving the nature of the universe, go on to include five planets, the big dipper, and the north star, as elements relative to us, as far as having a universal and spiritual relationship with them/to them. As far as stars go, approaching the big dipper, which is sometimes referred to as the Seven Sisters(I don't recall where that comes from, I just adapted this at some point), and the North Star, are relative to qigong study. Usually mentioned as higher level technique. Simply thought of, a star's energy is intense, and very different from , say a planet's energy. It is also a long ways away, but still has an influence on us. It is actually an interesting thing to me, that , say, the five planets mentioned in taoist technique, are the closest planets, where , from an astrological viewpoint, the outer planets that have specific influence on us, or in our lives, life's purpose, are really the key planets in our live's , relative to deeper purpose. I won't go any deeper there, as I certainly don't have my hands around that. Back to stars,,,,I think if one was going to 'literally' go to other stars, we are talking about universal energy here, not spiritual, although both exist in everything, approaching the big dipper, and North Star, is more relevant. What to do with them? I can't answer that for you. I have sat with them, and aligned with them, and I do feel a different energy, and quality of light, that comes from them. I think there is specific technique, in how you bring in that light. Or rather, where you bring it in to... Without knowing that, I treat them as relations, I don't know that well. I respect them, and ask for any engaging with them, to be a healing experience, through my master's energy, or just in the sense of being respectful and humble to not knowing, but, being aware of some relationship. I don't feel there is danger in this, if you filter your interaction. There is a very different energy to engage with. Obviously, there is also alot of basic things, relative to our qigong study, that come first!
- a second thing to note: The sun is the sun, but it is also a metaphor, if that is the right word, for spiritual light, or energy. The sun is literally the sun, but also an image that we can use for the Creator, or God. It is the closest image we have to perceive what to image Creator as. In the sense of using a bigger star , to image a greater sun, this is a good thing. A tool to bridge one from the image of a sun-sun, to the light of the Creator. I was just outside this morning, feeling the wonderful energy of spring here in Minnesota. It is a major change for us here, and strongly felt. So I am standing, eyes closed, prior to doing a short level I active exercise. I do my connections to the master's energy and the universe...I am standing there, feeling this incredible energy from the 'literal' sun. The birds are singing away. Total, wonderful morning energy, and spring energy. As I open this vertical column, within level I active, I am experiencing two suns, or two sources of light. One spiritual, and one , universal. The literal sun is lower in the sky(morning), very fresh energy and warmth, very physical sensation, very positive and life giving...I also am sensing this 'light' coming from above, relative to this opening up of this vertical column, or just awareness of light from above, Creator, or heaven. Sometimes I experience two suns, sometimes there is a merging into one light. As the light of the creator is in everything, you can sort of see this light emerge, and merge as on greater light. If you want a seriously big light, or 'the' light, the Creator is it, and for me, a great challenge to even comprehend and visualize. The image of the sun, is only a starting point. Where is this sun, and what is around it, spiritually speaking? Sort of like the chicken and the egg thing. Putting light within greater light, within just light, or one light, or everything as one light. The spiritual aspect of light is pretty incredible. Much more so than a physical star. No matter how big the star, it is miniscule, compared to the light of the Creator. It is a small speck.
So,,,,you have this spiritual and universal/physical aspect of star or sun, and also this connection or bridge to what spiritual light, or light qi is, and this one light that is within everything, or is everything, within and without.
I would strongly suggest aligning yourself with what is in closer relationship to you, and you being here within this solar system on Mother Earth. Your relationship to this literal, huge star is fine, but what about your closer , universal family, the sun, the big dipper and the North Star...I think the main value in visualizing this star you found, is in utilizing it to create a greater image of Creator, or a brighter aspect of spiritual , or light qi. Visualizing brighter, or greater light, is good. Engaging with this star in a physical sense, is not as relative, as working with many of the closer heavenly bodies in this solar system, and relative to you being on Mother Earth. There is of course, the idea of merging with the universe too, which includes this star, but I don't see that act or sensation, being as relative to how we visualize and work with light, or as itemized as including a specific, like one star. So,,,,pay respects to and experience/enjoy the sun, and the stars within our immeditate realm, as far as closer family goes, and use that big star you found, to give you a more powerful image of spiritual light, or light qi, to brighten your visualizations, or have a greater sense of Creator, within that light.

Hi again...
I thought of a simple concept, that is a better description of the sun and moon meditations. My perspective of course! I mentioned balance. More to the point, might be, ' moving in harmony with the natural order of things..' That's a better answer.
I also just realized these are level III CD's! Not the best subject for this forum's focus..
As suggested in previous posts, level III is a best, in person thing to engage with, wherever it takes you!

Thanks for keeping my feet on this planet Gallen!

As an environmental person dedicated toward finding some balance between people activities and protecting the natural world, your feedback on the natural order and rythms of this world were very helpful to me and have again deepened my understanding of SFQ.

I found the star energy to be quite different and incredibly intense. I find that I do the sun meditation much more than the moon meditation as I don't have a lot of time in the evening to meditate. Is there any suggestion on how often we should be doing sun versus moon meditations? There is no doubt they have very different energies.

Glad spring is arriving in the North. Our spring in the south is far less dramatic but always a welcome evolution. A great time to do Spring Forest QiGong!

I really appreciate your kind feedback and your extra efforts to help us along this profound path.

Thank you,
Agent B

Hi Agent B,
Couple things...
The forum is here as a support to Level I and II. (hint, hint) No more questions about level III!! Read the CD covers, take the class.
When you take a level III course, Master Lin has personal contact with you during your meditations. There are things he does/imparts to individuals, relative to level III, and relative to the individual. The class, also gives you a context to put things in, like these meditations. I don't want to create that context for you, outside of that. My posts were from my personal experiences ,prayerful meditations, etc.., some stemming from previous times and different contexts , other than qigong. When I heard you talk about this big star, and relative to these meditations, I wanted to mention some aspects you may have not considered, and I wanted to reign you back in a bit. Agent B, channelling the Pistol Star, required intervention! I do post an email address in my profile, if I can be of any further help.

gallen

Hi Again Gallen:

I've been thinking more about the big Pistol. Ancient Toaist did not have the advantage of the Hubel Telescope to let them see and know the exact coordinates and sizes of stars like the big Pistol. We must not be afraid to tap into all this energy that we now know is there. I appreciate the fact that I don't have a lot of experience with QiGong and need to keep building my foundation with the sun and moon, but at the same time we do need to trust God/universe to help us use these new powerhouses of energy wisely.

Enjoy your Sunday morning moca,
Agent B

HiA-B,
As I said, I like your creativity, and I, for one, would always encourage utilizing one's creative energy, to create new possibilities and explore new realms.
That said, I also think the purest inspiration, or 'knowing', comes from within. Along with that, a subtle energy practice like SFQ that nutures growth and greater understanding, and grounds one to a path that was before, and will be after... Nothing to do with technology or mind exercises/intellect.
You are free to make whatever choices you want. As a brother practicing qigong, I have to say, from my experience, which has involved working with celestial bodies, on my own, somewhat, but, always based in ancient systems holding wisdom with this matter, that there are steps to approaching this, that are known, within traditional systems. Entities like the Earth, have spirit, and body. They have personality, and more importantly, they are energy , and different types of energy.
A telescope only shows you the outside of something, not the spirit,or the nature of the energy, or , its relation to you and everything else. You are engaging with this this star, in a non technological way, in your qigong practice. Sort of like deciding to give a person you are doing a level II session with, an xray, because you 'know' you will be able to see inside. An xray can provide useful information, but, it has nothing to do with the qigong side of it. It doesn't help your qigong ability or process, to rely on the xray.
My first sense, concerning this, was more spiritual. I saw you not really knowing your immediate family, and bypassing those relationships to hang with a distant relative, that may not be relevant to your purpose in coming to earth. We do have purpose here, and we did decide to come here. At least, this is my perspective, and I choose to speak from that perspective. We are, for the most part, ignorant to what is around us. I will gladly claim that myself, and I don't mean to define anyone else. Everything I say is my perspective, and please take it in the best light. Just me , talking to myself!
When it comes to the part that these enties have spirit, and, they have relationships with us, that ignorance is unfortunate, and we often bypass a loving relationship that is there, open and willing to engage, for something quite removed, and not relevant to our purpose here, and our closer spiritual relationships , relative to that. We may come from other stars/star systems, but we are here, to work with, and on , Mother Earth. That does reach out to the solar system and universe, but from my perspective, not in the way you are connecting the dots. Most of us haven't even acknowledged the earth, let alone a distant star. The damage we have done is quite evident. Ignorance. Have you ever spoken to her, or listened? She knows you. Do you know her? If you feel motivated to go outside of the celestial information within qigong, which is certainly ok, start with the earth. I do not say this lightly. We haven't exactly been respectful, or humble, in how we have lived on the earth. I would venture to say, that either the earth, or the moon, also feminine(grandmother if you like), would be excellent energies for you to engage with. More so, perhaps than the sun. I think you have a healthy amount of yang energy, and don't need energy from a big star in another galaxy!
Do you think the achievements of Taoist sages can be measured against western technology? I think they are two totally different things. Perhaps, someday, coming to the same truths, but most effective, within their own contexts. I would go on to say self sustaining, from the qigong perspective. I find the spiritual aspects to things, less limiting, and closer to reality, than the technological approach or access to things. We can, work together on this! We are perhaps different. I am happy to know this big star is out there...but, I question your relationship with it, and how you have come to choose and define it. As I said, we are brothers in qigong, and I respect your perspective. I don't agree with it, and as your brother, I would rather, that you stayed focused more on the material as given regarding the sun and moon. It is them, literally, and them as healing light, to bring within. Again, 'the' Power, is the light of God. It is in everythihg. The physical size does not determine the level of power. As Master Lin has said, we all have a soul light within. It is the light of God. It is beautiful, we all have it within, and it is perfection. It's intensity is constant, omnipotent, and can not be measured with instruments. The better you can visualize 'this' light, and bring it into your intentions and work, the better for all of us. As I said, as far as power goes, this is power, not the star you discovered , in the way you are defining power via it's physical size. Also, your desire to move in harmony with where you are, will be best nutured by doing that,,,being where you are.
love,
gallen

I've enjoyed following this thread.

gallen, I'm sure AgentB understands that you are coming from a loving, caring place when you offer your advice. And your care to not impose your beliefs but to fully and completely share is always appreciated.

I know your words have sometimes taken a while to have an affect on me.

However, I'm posting here because I want to ask after your psuedo-quote by master Lin. And I offer my apologies to AgentB for any undesired divergence of his thread. Gallen you stated:

As Master Lin has said, we all have a soul light within. It is the light of God. Is is beautiful, we all have it within, and if is perfection. It's intensity is constant, omnipotent, and can not be measured with instruments. The better you can visualize 'this' light, and bring it into your intentions and work, the better for all of us.

Can I ask where you got this material? This descriptions is very important to me.

Thank you.

You are perfection.

Hi Iam2,
This is an open thread. Anyone can jump in anytime. As you say, I was not 'quoting' Master Lin. The first few sentences were as close as I remember his statements. I embellished with my own additives too. It was in reference to defining spirit and soul relative to healing work, level 4. I was just restating what you say after all of your posts. 'You are perfection.'

Thanks Gallen. Our last posts crossed. I didn't realize that the focus of this forum was for Level I and II.

I struggle all the time with mother earth and finding some balance to our engineered human ways and protecting the natural order of things. We are being overrun by the sheer number of people, material consumption, greed, advertising, nonrenewable resources, poverty, war and information overload and yet we do make progress and are learning so much on many fronts. And QiGong has shown me that universal love is so powerful... that by changing our perspective to a universal perspective and not just of this earth is where we can find sustainable answers -- By using all the forces of the universe including the sun & moon (and perhaps at the right times all the star power we can bring to bear) we can come to know the true power of this universal or god love. We must never stop putting our heads and hearts together to help our children have a better future.

Many thanks for your guidance and patience,
Agent B
