Master Lin says to do each exercise 6 times.
Is there any special significance in 6?
Is it esoteric? mystical? magical?

I like to do some of the final exercises
8, 10, 15 times each. Is that OK?
The last four exercises feel good, so I
just keep on going past 6.

NO! You're BAD! You're Doing It ALL Wrong!

Not exactly what you'd image Master Lin saying, now is it?

You might image him saying, "If you don't like six, then try 3, or 12, or 36". There is nothing special about 6. It's not too big and not too small, and it has the bonus of being a multiple of 3. Oh, oh, oh, it's also a "Perfect Number".

I know I sound a little trite, and I'm sorry if I've offended.

Also, I'm not the authority, but I remember this kind of question being posted before.

Personally, I loose count. Yes, even upto 6. I figure if I stop at 5, or 7, or 9 then that is how many I needed to do that day.

You are perfection.Iam2

Aloha Dianetics85,

You're in good company, as this gets asked a lot in his level I classes.

However, this is where you'll have to check in your exactly at the door.

Thanks Iam2 for the If you don't like 6, then try.. Chunyi mentions that a lot, and follows it up with a conversation Americans being a "recipe" culture always wanting to know "How many times?" -so you put out a specific number.

The harvesting of Qi exercises are great ones to take the time you need for the neck, some special attention to all the areas of the ear, etc.

In some of his meditations down the road, there will be a purpose, or intention for working in sets of 6's, 7's, or 9's.

Much Love,

Shawn
