I use to think of achieving balance and flow of chi as a goal. I now see it as a how to a goal. The specific techniques of SFQ are the what for creating the how.

My question regards the concept of balance. We should be seeking a balance of yin and yang energy. However, I see the SFQ practices as being mostly yin. Love as a yin energy. If I become filled with love energy am I creating an imbalance.

Perhaps I need to create a balance over my whole life experience and so I must become more yin for a time, then move onto a balanced in the now.

Perhaps some of you will suggest that love is neither yin or yang. That it is an energy of a different level or frequency.

Master Lin has said that some of the energy we deal with is more yin or more yang (palm versus sword finger, etc). Is love just a intent? Is love just a message? Is it just the carrier frequency of the message? Why is sword finger energy more yang than palm energy?

Mental work is yin energy. Physical work is yang energy. Maybe it is more correct to say they are more yin or more yang.

Is there a spectrum of yin and yang energy or is it a two state thing? I know I'm getting in my head, but that's okay when I'm not doing my meditations. I'm tossing these ideas about when considering where I want to go with qigong. What I want to achieve, what I want to become.

Please, share your thoughts on this idea of balance, and love and SFQ.

Thank you.

In my humble opinion there is yin and yang love. There is yin love based on understanding, very soft light, water, etc. There is Yang love not unlike your father whipping you with a belt or a Zen Monk swatting you during meditation. It is a strong lightning bolt, fire. Both are based on love it is only your understanding of receiving it to see it as a gift or maybe a way to purify yourself.

Yang love, if used the right way, points out your weaknesses, brings negative emotions to the surface allowing you to let them go. Once they are are gone you are much stronger and not attached, a old style teacher could use this the right way.

Learning how to "let go" in an old school way probably the biggest mystery to solve, now there are many technics.

They are opposites that compliment each other. You can find love any place you look if that is your focus. Yin and Yang is a tool to help ones understanding of both sides of the same coin. Once you understand all the inner workings of Love, then you could just say "yeah, it's all love" and you would have all the depth and breadth of that statement.

Hi Iam2,
If you become filled with love energy, you are 'not' creating an imbalance. Yin and yang, came into being when the universe was created. God was before that event in creation. God is love.
Love was, before yin and yang.

Hi Iam2,

If you see love as yin energy don't you think that the "imalance" will be naturaly balanced by the atraction/manifestation in your reality of the perfection of that which you love?

I like the spiritual (yin) and physical (yang) view that I understand diannee's post to be conveying.

Taking what Gallen has said as love being the god / universal energy along with Master Lin (Tao doctorine) "The one creates the two, the two create the three, and the three creates everything.". Leaves me with a concept that I find appealing, which is that love (the universal energy) is not yin or yang but the one which came before the two. I can't say I'm 100% happy with this concept, but it brings me enough peace that I will let is rest for a while. Rest may not be the right thing. It's more like, take root and develop in my sub-conscious.

Thank you for the input.
