Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ Spring Forest Qigong spirit - soul

I normally use the terms spirit and soul interchangeably. I had assumed that Master Lin did as well, and maybe sometimes he does. However, I've notice a couple of places where it sounds like they are not the same thing.

Does anyone have some more of SFQ perspective on these concepts. Other non-SFQ perspective are appreciated, but please indicate the nature of the source of your understand you share.

I had a similar question and asked Master Lin during the retreat. The spirit and soul are different. The soul is always purified. Whereas the spirit is affected by life experiences. That's why Master Lin sayes to listen to your soul. "The inner voice is the soul."

From one of his books, "Through doing QiGong, through meditation, through helping others, through having positive thoughts, you can help to purify your spirit and you are able to listen to your soul more closely and have it guide your way in life so that you will make fewer mistakes in your life.

What a good question and good responses. I have always been confused by these terms as well. But your answers leave me with another question--is spirit the same as personality?
