Good luck with the hard disk. I found it keep my car running smoothly. And starting on a flat battery. Last March when my brother picked me up from the airport the car wouldn't start, flat battery. Well it's due for a replacement he said. "you bought it over 2 years ago, two years is a good life for a battery."
I've been starting my car no problem right into winter. People stated telling me the battery was flat I kept saying nah it will fire on 3, One two three, shaking a loose sword fingers at the steering column. After being told that I need to replace the battery 3 times in 2 weeks I thought better sooner than later. So I made the decision to go and buy a battery. Jump in the car and no way would it start. Called my brother solved his problem he need a driver for car. Tooke the old battery out and bought a new one.
Found out that I bought the battery in 1999 and it was putting out 1.5 volts (should be 12 volts) so How was I starting the car? :P Two month later I replaced alternator found out it wasn't charging the battery. Light on the dash indicated it wasn't working properly for about 18 months. My new battery was starting my car with 6 volts it had drained that much already. Starting the car wasn't the problem.
