Last summer, my son, who was then 6, developed asthma. It started in early summer and lasted through October. As the weather cooled off, the symptoms went away. The asthma was slight when my son was idle but became worse when he was active. The doctor prescribed an inhaler, but it didn't help much.

My son had no asthma at all during winter and spring, but now summer is here again and so is my son's asthma.

I would like to try using qigong on my son's asthma, but I am only at level 1, and the only technique I have is sword fingers, and you are not supposed to use it around the heart, and the lungs are, of course, near the heart. Where should I direct the sword fingers technique to clear any blockage that might be causing this seasonal asthma?

I believe that level two there are techniques which are aimed at breathing problems and asthma. Don't hold me to that becuase I haven't had the chance to fully review the manual.
I have to add that this is also of interest to me becuase my mother suffers from hay-fever quite bad that she borders on asthmatic. I would like to know if the usual Qigong techniques for breathing/lungs techniques in level 2 can work to rid her of her hay-fever (its already done wonders for her shoulders pains and neck ache).

A while ago there were two posts concerned with me working with my son and daughter's asthma and you might find these interesting. If you use the search facility and put 'kev5' in the username box it will come up with posts I've been involved with - there are two with asthma in the title. I didn't have level 2 at the time but Gallen gave me some very helpful instructions which were very useful when I worked with my children.
