I came from a background of meditation, but knew nothing about energy work and energy healing. Spring Forest Qigong has elements of meditation and also energy work. So, people with experience in the martial arts often have a comfort level going in, as well as people in the healing field, or those who have done meditation or chanting.

Master Lin is a very knowledgeable man, who seems to be happy all the time. He smiles a lot, and is always kind to everyone. But he tells us that he had a very difficult, stressful childhood during the Cultural Revolution in China. As a youth and young adult, he suffered from depression. His personal story is very dramatic, and you can read about it sometime, if you choose. He credits qigong with his complete turnaround in his health, and in battling the depression. He also has said that he feels he can really help others who suffer from it.

When you study it for yourself, you can see how good it is. Read through the posts on this forum. You can use the search capability to search a particular subject, or just read some of the topics that look interesting. Many people have made very dramatic changes in their lives.

You say you've already made great changes. That is wonderful. If you want to try Spring Forest Qigong, the cost of the first course is quite reasonable. Plus, you get to share with people on this forum!
