Dan,
I offer these thoughts with love & compassion. I emphathize with you, as I have lost two that were close to me to cancer that settled into their livers. As you know, liver cancer is most serious, and if it is one of the untreatable kinds, then lifespan may be measured in weeks. So your feeling of urgency is understood.
My recommendation to you is that as you search for answers, also be very sensitve to your mother's cares & needs (I know you will, but please keep this foremost). If hospice is not already engaged, I encourage you to consider doing so as they are a wonderful resource to provide support and compassion to your mother and also to the family.
Your oncologist probably is already aware of this, but Duke University Cancer Center has done significant research into liver cancer.
I mention these conventional ideas -- but please do not take this as meant to discourage your pursuit of Qigong healing, as I'm sure your mother will benefit from it.
