I was wondering who here practices a martial arts in conjuction with qigong. I assume it does help, because you can't help but make chi flow during martial arts practice.

I have a background in wushu kung fu, and found my beginning lessons of qigong easy to catch onto, and recommend it as a great supplement

I've found that my Tai Chi practice really compliments Qigong. I've only just started working with the book exercises over the last couple of weeks, but I feel that the focus on healing that is emphasised by Qigong is really an ideal starting point for martial art practice, particularly in terms of attitude. I suppose it really underpins the defence versus offence mentality and of course really promotes the encountering of conflict (whether within the body or when running into someone on the street) as an opportunity to create a balance of energy, rather than to prolong or aggravate resistance or struggle. Coming from Belfast I think that any means by which conflict can be resolved peacefully is a plus!
