We are all skeptical of those publically claiming to posses paranormal abilities.

In reality, the best way to convince yourself if paranormal abilties are true is to develop them in yourself, not test someone else. It certainly would take a smaller investment in time to develop a test, bring someone else into a lab, run and experiement and analyze the results. This has been done. Many published studies are available. The results are mixed. The big downside of this approach is what would happen if the experiment failed to prove the paranormal results. You would decide that the paranormal does not exist.

If 1000 experiements failed to verify the paranormal (telepathy or remote viewing or whatever...) and 1 experiment proved it, what is the truth. I think many in science would use Occam's razor to say the simpliest explanation is 1000 correct experiements and 1 incorrect experiment.

But perhaps the 1000 experiments were wrong and 1 experiment were correct. How could anyone know this? I propose that the best way is commit oneself to a spiritual path to find the truth. This would require a much larger investment in time, energy, and perhaps money. This was my thinking when I ordered my first meditation cd and started down my path. Then when you know, you KNOW!

One problem with this idea is picking the wrong path, a path that leads nowhere. I think there are many dead ends on the spiritual path. Dead ends in the sense that reach a certain level and top out.

The reality is learning to meditate can and will only have positive affects. And for many people this physical and mental positive effects are all that they desire.

A second problem is that if your goal is to ...(fill in the blank... reach enlightenment, develope paranormal power, connect with God, make the world a better place, help humankind...) what is the quickest path. Would you rather take 10 years to find the answer or 1-2 years.
