For nearly the entire day I've decided to activate a large block of text in a book and I haven't gotten really far. In fact, I still have yet to get the experience where everything 'gels'.
I made tons of 20 minute passes, and felt like I was getting no where. Then I kept on, and continued to ask question and I still feel like i haven't gotten anywhere.
I realize that comprehension comes from whole to parts, but I suppose I must've done something wrong. I also recognize that my expectations are high partly due to the difficulty of the book. It takes a while for me to comprehend the material.
This particular book is a commentary and it doesn't have a particular 'theme' or anything along those lines. Since I have a major reading assignment due tomorrow, I decided to do some regular reading (using rhythmic perusal) and I think I'm getting much farther at the moment. But I realize that regular reading won't really cut it for me. I won't be able to keep up at this rate.
I could really use all the help I can get.
Anyone care to comment?
