When Iread with glasses I see the rim when I focus and it keeps making my visual field come in (reduce) and so I struggle to hold the focus. Any one else have this? Any hints? Also have been going slowly with the course Is this the best way?

I find with PR,
I don't need to even use reading glasses,

just place the book a proper distance from your eye that
allows you to see the words clearly without your glasses on.
Then take off your glasses
and start photofocusing and flip flip flip
while focusing on the blip (or the imaginary X)
while simultaneously taking in the four corners of
the book with your panoramic vision.

The subconscious sees all the words this way
without you having to strain your
eyes

just a suggestion
