Hi Ennar,
thanks for your answer as it really helps me a lot (especially about the Alex...:D)

I did activation on the photoreading wholemind system and i saw the part which talk about the timing.

But still the question came...and about the syntopic reading...
Let say i want to photoread three books with totally same topic.

Can i use one purpose for all three books?
Can i just enter the accelerated learning state, smile, tangerine, and further photoread three books?(I mean without repeating the method "3 to 1"

Since i syntopic photoread six physics books with six purpose before and it seems doesn't effect at all...

Well i admit that i didnt listen carefully to the photoreading personal learning course by Mr.Scheele.

Any answer from the Lady Alex:D and others are all welcomed

Thanks~!

i think the 3-2-1 method is just to help u to maintain relaxed and focused. so as long as u r remained calm and relaxed, there is no need to repeat it.

as for syntopic, just state the main purpose, then photoread the books that are listed in ur bibliography.

Example:
i have some books on study: "how to study"
"everything study book"
"manage your life in college" etc..
i have sufficient study technique already with photoreading whole mind system, so i can just cut out the "how to read technical books" and stuffs and decide to learn more how to manage my life while having to cope wif homework, sports and so on. so i stated my purpose as: "i am going to learn about how to manage my time so i can use my time more effectively and efficiently." then just photoread those books. don't need to restate purpose everytime u photoread each book.
it is fun when i come to different authors who have their own viewpoint on time management. so create a big mindmap on the differing viewpoints and similar viewpoints. the mindmap will give me a clear picture about the information. i then compare the advantages and the disadvantages of some of the viewpoints and try to apply those i think are useful.

actually i find it very efficient using syntopic reading which makes my reading more enjoyable. it is like debating with the authors on their points.

Alex, any comment to fine tune my syntopic skill? i do hope kunagi does find this info useful.

thanks

Ok first the 3-2-1 entering the accelerated learning state.

Think of a runner getting ready to race. Prepare the runner removes excess garments surveys the track. Gets into an ideal mental state (focus - tangerine technique).

Preview - A little bit of a warm up... not to much you don't want to exhaust yourself for the race.

Enter the Accelerated Learning State 3 Physically prepare - position yourself on the starters block, 2- Mentally prepare - be here now you're about to start running. 1- the jump - you remember your purpose and affirm your intent (to win the race probably - to find the answers when reading)

PhotoRead - Run

If we were to measure the brainwaves of the runner we would see that they are different in the 3-2-1 stage and the actual run. The same is true of the PhotoReader. The brainwaves are different when entering the Accelerated Learning State and PhotoReading state.

The purpose is similar to that of the runner. To get ready for the best possible run. We also know from runners if they hang around the starters block too long and work too hard at getting that right the run suffers. The same is true for PhotoReading. Don't take too long getting into the Accelerated Learning State and don't try to stay there when you are PhotoReading.

Syntopic reading.

Syntopic reading is reading 4 to 5 books on one topic. Usually for research. It's an excellent approach to help you write research papers.

Draw up the syntopic mind map with your single purpose in the middle. The bigger the paper the better.

Write your purpose in the middle and then select 4 to 5 books that will relate to your purpose. I'm not going to repeat the rest of the Syntopic reading chapter here... it gives a step 1, 2, 3,... approach already.

The only thing I will add is that you build it up over a number of hours over a few days. It's not normally completed in one day. So hang it on the wall and when you do 10-20 minutes of activation on one of the books look at your purpose decide and activate.

ennar,

I would have used Direct Learning. Chosen how to books and just stated my purpose PhotoRead the lot in one sitting and imaged myself in the future using my study time more effectively. No need to activate the book let the brain do it;)

Hi Ennar,

Several thanks for your info~ It really helps me a lot on syntopic reading and photoreading. I followed your suggest and found that it is really useful for my photoreading . I can now photoread more books in set time.

Alex,

Perfect. Thanks for the info....really touching at all T_T. From now i think i can improve my photoreading wholemind system with your teaching. Thanks!!! It will be a very richful resource for my photoreading! And for my friends who will learn photoreading later(hope so)

You are a great person, Alex. Thanks.
Ennar, thanks for your info too , you are really loveful and helpful person at all.

P/S: I photoread my chemistry yesterday and today i tested my chemistry exam. The result is......the answer and idea flew in my mind continuously and i cant stop my writting~! Two and half hours is not enough for me!!!
A brand new feeling for me, a student who always failed in chemistry.

congrats...:):)

thanks alex, but the time management skills require me to make schedules and priotize my to-do list. i don't think direct learning works on this.

however, i did try direct learning in "learn football" book.:) the experience was great when my friends found me blocked 3 balls in a row (i was the goal keeper) with their jaws opened.

I think direct learning could work for time management. Maybe you have to imagine yourself having a more flexible and organized schedule or something when you're in the future.

In using direct learning for something like summer reading for school, do people just imagine themselves in the near future or past answering the test questions or writing a more fluid essay? Or... is there a more optimal way to activate summer reading material if all the teacher tells you is to read it over and over without giving questions to answer?

And.. I have another question. Does going through the 'Photoread' step again with a different purpose help comprehension?

I really want to stick with Photoreading this time since it seems different. If it helps, I'll give the link to the summer reading list and the 'recommended way' to read.

I'm still not sure about how direct learning really works yet - is it just insight or does the person have to feel an idea of what will come to pass? Oh, and I'm really sorry for stealing the topic, it's just that some people think I'm crazy for saying that I finished the summer reading in one day and say that I'll fail the tests...

Congratulations on doing so well in chemistry.

May you have many more future success with photoreading.

Yes indeed it has been done. Others have used direct learning successfully for developing management and organisational skills.

Summer reading requires reading. It isn't one you just hope for spontaneous activation. You'll need to apply all the steps of the system.

Purpose can change or questions can become more evolved to match your purpose. What helps comprehension is multiple layers.

Direct Learning is for developing skills and habits. Physical actions you can carry out to improve your life.

PhotoReading with Syntopic reading is for studying and understanding of what you read. Amount of time you spend with the book will depend on your goal. If you need to answer questions, Activate, do all the steps of the system, that's is the most reliable way of knowing that you've understood the text.
