My husband has pulmonary edema (noncardiac) and edema in ankles and legs. This has not responded to the diuretic Lasix. He feels very bad--no energy. He is absolutely not willing to do Spring Forest Qigong. He says it is because he cannot see "cause and effect."

I do not have any confidence in my ability to heal others. I tried Sword Fingers with no results. Has anyone had success healing edema? What can I do? How long and how often should I do it?

Thanks for any help. We really need it.

Aloha MB,

I'd work on him every day if it was my spouce. Do you have the Level I and II courses? If so, notice what you find in your detection and look at what CHunyi has to say regarding working withthe lungs.

In the meanwhile, visualize inviting him in to stand or sit next to you as you do your active exercises. See him coming in and doing than with you and then going back to where he belongs with a smile on his face when every thing is done.

When you'r doing the Joining of Yin & Yang, visualize him as well as yourself in the ball being rejuvenated and refreshed.

Much Love, Shawn

When I feel that I'm lacking in confidence during healing, I remind myself that the healing is already there, supporting me. Imagine that Master Lin is there with you, helping your husband. Imagine that the room where your husband is sitting, and around his chair, is filled with Master Lin's healing energy. Imagine that your whole house is currently filled and protected by this white, cleansing, healing energy. That it is lifting you and your husband, helping you both to heal and dissolve blockages.
Even think about healing when you are preparing food, that the nourishment and healing properties of the food are helping your husband. Also focus on how this life affirming energy is lifting and dissolving any feelings of worry or anxiety you may be feeling, instead bringing light and smiles to both you and your husband's faces.
Much love
Ingrid

Dear MB,
Have your husband try the "finger length" exercise first - definitely "well, I'll
be"...just to get him there with the whole concept.

His medical diagnosis and lack of resolution with his edema etc. must be depressing for him anyway and his lack of energy is consistent with his medical diagnosis.
He doesn't have anything to lose by trying QiGong and a great deal to gain.

When I started, my pain level was 8/10 and in a week it was 2/10. If I fall behind in my practice I can certainly tell physically.

There are so many things in this world and universe where we cannot see cause and effect. My first healing was when a large deer came by my window and had obviously been injured (an old injury)to the point where he had to lie down about 15 feet away. I sent him energy and after a couple of minutes he started scratching the injured area, he rested a little and the got up and walked away, with much less limping. I stayed and cried....

I tell you this as I was an ICU and trauma nurse for many years before becoming ill, so am also trained for "cause and effect". Perhaps it would help your husband to look at the accomplishments of Chinese medicine over the past millenia.

My Qigong practice is the most uplifting and beneficial thing I have done in the past seven years of illness.

This is my first post and I hope something will be helpful to you. Have faith in yourself and remember that love and forgiveness and compassion should be directed upon yourself.....

With Love,
Barbara

Have you tried any homeopathics or naturopathic remedies for his edema?
Has your husband read any of Chunyi Lin's book? Maybe just leaving it laying around might peak his interest if not?
I like alot of the suggestions above, I'll have to do some of them- sending energy through the food, throughout the house, etc.
