Hi origfla!

Excellent suggestion, thanks!
What I thought could be related was the fact that he is a person who doesn't listen to anybody, is always right and who knows everything. The Tinnitus reminds me of a person who instead of listening is whistleing. Nevertheless, I couldn't tune him in, so I guess I'll try your suggestion - sounds effective.

Cheers

With a person like that, make sure to check he's not a polarity responder (i.e. Everything you say, he has an argument for) - if he is, mix in a few suggestions in your pre-talk along the lines of "many people find this too dificult to do, but..." or "you don't think you could..., huh?"
and phrase some of your EFT statements as highly negative "Even though I could never get over this..." or "Even though I'm going to be stuck with this for ever...", etc.

Basically, if his mind argues with whatever it's being told, you want him to lead himshelf to his eventual success by arguing and debating your comments.

Let me know how it goes & Best of luck!

Ori

Check he isn't deaf. Tinnitus can be related to hearing loss and the "not listening" can be a coveri up for not hearing. What industry he worked in might be a clue and it's not uncommon at that age.

I just received 4 of the EFT DVD sets which I ordered specifically to help me with issues such as sadness, anger, depression, marriage problems, lack of business success. Now, are you telling me that I wasted my money and that it can't work for these issues??!
Anyone, would like to share their experience with me? Greatly appreciated!

Can EFT help me with my vocal issues? What I mean is that I have Julia Roberts personality and am craving for Charlize Therone's instead. Basically, I am tired of being called "gregarious, loud, full of life, etc".

I think I posted earlier if someone knows what paraliminal to use for this issue - new behaviour and new option didn't help me. I am still using belief paralimal because I wanted to change my belief about my personality but I think it is working more towards raising my self esteem than changing my personality. (which is good also, but I want to speak ssssoftly!) And trust me, I make a conscious effort every second to speak softly.

EFT can help with all those issues wrp. You have to use it though.

I have had good results. For me, the main problem has been getting to the root of the problem and getting the phrases right. For example, if I were having an issue with heights, I might automaticaly say that "Even though I am afraid of heights," but I might actually be afraid of falling from heights.

I recommend trying variations of the phrases. You could be afraid of heights, or afraid of falling.

You could feel that your "loud" personality is safe for you- are you sure that you really want to change it, or do you just think you do?

Take any issue that you're working on, and look at it from a few vantage points:

1. How might this protect you?

Whatever your answer is, EFT that. Perhaps it might protect you by keeping people from getting close to you so that you don't get rejected. Maybe it protects you by keeping you focused on that problem instead of more "real" problems.

2. Is there another way of looking at it that you haven't considered?

Perhaps the very act of thinking that there is something wrong with your personality as it stands is what you need to let go of. Maybe the problem isn't that being loud is the problem, but more than feeling bad about it is the problem. Being "soft spoken" is a social indoctrination.

3. Can you think of any social mores that you are inadvertently trying to blend in with?

Big boys don't cry. Women shouldn't work outside the home if they have children. Adults must be strong. Patience is a virtue.

4. Is there any seemingly unrelated incident that you think of when you think of the issue?

Maybe when you get anxious, you remember the time that a girl friend called you and told you that she was moving. Now whenever you smell turnips cooking, you get anxious for no apparent reason- well, that smell has become linked for you to the loss of a friend.

5. Can you connect these incidents in a new way?

Perhaps when you were a kid, you got out of school once because you had a headache. Now when you have to face anything you don't like, you get a headache, but you go and do it anyway. So you don't connect the incident because that time, you did get out of school.

6. Can you find a reason why you wouldn't want to give up the problem?

Has it become so much a part of you that you don't know how you'd react? Are you fearful of what may happen- perhaps if you became wealthy, you'd never know if anyone loved you for YOU instead of your money. That type of thing.

7. Do you really believe it can be gotten rid of?

Do you believe that clinical depression can be cured in any way? Is it something you "just have to live with" and treat forever? EFT away these beliefs and try again.

8. Are you expecting every issue to be a "one minute wonder"?

Some things have many, many layers to them. Some things you have to go back to, time and time again, because your beliefs about them have had a long time to build up and branch out. Some things will go away right away, some things won't.

PS, keep a journal. Sometimes our thinking has changed and we don't even realize it.

Wonderful ideas & suggestions so far!

Sadness, anger & depression & all those other issues can totally be worked with EFT &/or TAT.

I actually started doing EFT because a friend lost her brother at a young age & she was devastated... I had to be strong for her, & after I discovered & printed out EFT & read the first part of the manual, I started applying it immediately. I misread the instructions & 'rubbed' the points instead of tapping, & did it over & over again, so I got EXCITED & had an immense amount of ENERGY (I felt almost guilty for feeling SO GOOD at the funeral!!) - but it was really important I stayed strong for her, & I did! (I had an aversion to going to funerals prior to that but going to this one was easy. I knew I had to be there & EFT helped A LOT!)
So I definitely don't recommend doing this before sleep!! (Tapping makes me a bit less but still over-excited too, pretend-tapping may be okay-ish before sleep, while TAT makes me pleasantly sleepy, & seems very much okay for before-sleep.)

However, it is important to understand the long-term reasons for depression & such.. A healthy nutrition & life-style including a daily walk in the fresh air (& possibly exercise) are a must, & EFT can help with motivation for that!
& if you're still feeling 'off' after a few rounds of EFT, check if you aren't hungry! (Or lacking B vitamins or Magnesium or something!)

Also, I had read about CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) before, I highly recommend 'The Feeling Good Workbook' by Dr. David Burns, & I use de-negativizing, which is journalling after their method, to identify, challenge & get rid of negative thoughts - this can totally be done together with EFT!

The EFT & TAT newsletter & site give great suggestions how to 'tweak' the basic recipe & what to use it on...

As for marriage, communication & maintaining your level of energy without trying to get it from your partner, & speaking each other's 'languages of love' may be most important... So working on the communication skills (& again, a healthy lifestyle) seem essential - & they will help you in your biz life too!

EFT & TAT (www.tatlife.com) not only helped cure my car-driving, spider & dentist phobia, but also helped heal my relationship with my Dad that had long-standing resentments in it. Probably TAT was even more helpful for that. So were conversations with Dad. And understanding/learning what his work life involved.. But EFT & TAT really enabled a calm conversation with him..

What I mean is, EFT & TAT are just two helpful approaches, at times they might not be appropriate & something else may be more helpful, like going for a walk or taking a bath or clarifying a problem with someone... or doing some effective problem-solving or research on a 'problem'... But they can be of great help. If you do them. Or tap on resistance to doing them instead.

Lately, and by lately I mean the last several weeks, I have found EFT to be extremely useful. One thing specifically that I have found useful is connecting current feelings to childhood memories.

Like something will happen that causes some less than useful feelings to come up, like last night when I ate a whole bag of jelly beans.
this morning I was like, yuck, last night I ate a whole bag of jelly beans, so I tapped "even though last night I ate a whole bag of jelly beans.."
and "even though eating jelly beans will make me fat.."
and when I was through, I used the sentence stem:

When I think of getting fat, it reminds me of when...

And then I wait for a memory to come up, and then tap it away.
usually while I am tapping, a couple more related ones come, and I tap those away. For some reason, the memories come up easier if I say the sentence stem while I am tapping the karatechop point.

I have unrooted some doozies (the causes of some limiting beliefs) in the past couple weeks, and as a result I notice lately I'm thinking more and more happy thoughts, and feel a lot more optimistic, and I'm even naturally framing events to my benefit, so I naturally see evidence everywhere of the universe helping me out.

Now, when something happens that would have made me upset before, now I see it as the universe giving me guidance on what I need to tap on to have a better happier life.
