What I thought could be related was the fact that he is a person who doesn't listen to anybody, is always right and who knows everything. The Tinnitus reminds me of a person who instead of listening is whistleing. Nevertheless, I couldn't tune him in, so I guess I'll try your suggestion - sounds effective.
