I think the level II active exercises are 'very' helpful, and important, if you are working on others.

I like using my hands, long distance or not. My preferences are not necessarily yours. " Allow yourself to develop with what is good for you." Don't necessarily do what I say I do! I am a wild and crazy guy!!

There are two things here,,,,your self healing, and healing others. Level I and II compliment those two aspects. If you have blockages, I wouldn't forego level I active for yourself. Try this:
On a day you are going to work on your son, do the level II exercises in the morning.
Work on your son at noontime that day. Go back to your level I exercises on other days. See if your sword fingers, palms, and cloud hands have a nice familiarity of experience/feeling from that morning. Sword fingers and thunderpalms are not easy in the beginning, regarding holding up your arms. 2 minutes might be it with each. If so , fine, do that and shoot for five down the road. These exercises are good for focus too. If your arms start to tire, focus on your breathing in of energy. That, and perhaps a visit to your hands,,,,the palms in thunderpalms , or the two fingers in sword fingers.
Focusing there, moves energy through the arms, as opposed to your mind going to any tiredness higher in your arms. As I say, focusing on the breathing instead is best as a base of focus. Relax the top of the shoulders too, if you start to tire. think of opening it up. It is when you are tired of holding it, that you can do some good work with the exercise. Sitting down is fine. Your arms can stay up longer than how you feel it. They don't all of sudden drop off. Developing focus is what this piece is about.
Cloud hands is very pleasant, as is 10,000 hands. You can spend time in them and really relax and open up. Whatever.... doing a level II active session relative to a healing session with others ,,,,,I think,,,,is good to look at. Again,,,,you make choices relative to yourself,,,,not relative to me.
