I've tried the Awakening Prologue level of the Centrepoint program and I am now using the Discovery level of the Gateway Series. It is only my personal experience but without a doubt I have gone deeper with the Hemi-Sync tapes. They are also cheaper and the tapes give one more variety as well as giving one a variety of mental tools. You do resonant tuning which is some very nice intoning of a mantra, you learn to use the energy conversion box, you construct a resonant energy balloon...etc...there are many more tools as you go through the tapes. There is also abundant research about the use of the tapes and many significant names in consciousness exploration have collaborated on tapes or had very good things to say about them. (i.e. Charles Tart, Elizabeth Kubler Ross).
The Centrepoint tapes were ok. I was able to meditate fairly well with them. I used them for about 6 months and didn't really notice any of the things the materials mentioned.
With the Hemi-Sync tapes I listen for a couple of weeks and then switch to the next one. There is usually a noticeably new mind state to bask in and a new tool to learn how to use.
For me there is no comparison. The Hemi-Sync tapes are a more useful experience.
