This weekend my wife, daughter and I were driving across a neighboring state. We stoppend at state park that featured petrified trees. After lunch we walked along the trails of the park to look at the trees.
It was the middle of the afternoon and the sun was low in the sky. It was clear and very cold. My wife was walking about 50 feet ahead of us and a big black crow flew from the mountains on one side of us to the other side of the valley. The crow was "cawing" the whole time. I pointed the crow out to my daughter who is almost 3 years old. Then I asked my daughter what that crow was doing. I was expecting "flying" or something. My daughter replied, "that bird is talking to mama."
