It isn't all about speed it's about understanding and learning with greater comprehension and missing less of the important stuff. You won't find any recent claims of reading speeds greater than 800wpm. Courts have ruled that anything above that is not reading it's skimming.
You can PhotoRead at 25,000 wpm although most get toward 55,000 wpm in a book and on-screen 100,000 wpm is easily achieved with the computers and software available now.
