Hi:

It might actually be more helpful, concerning "Sedona" to send you to the website - here's the link: The Sedona Method. You will be able to learn to release those feelings of guilt and shame if you just give this a chance. Also, guilt and shame take up a lot of mental and emotional real-estate in your head, so once you've done this, thinking on another of your posts here, you may find you have a much easier time of absorbing other material.

Regarding the part of the 12 Step Program where you need to right the emotional wrongs done to persons:

1) You may be creating more guilt for yourself than necessary by thinking that just being around people with a negative mind-bend would be damaging to them - there are two sides to that coin - and the big question to ask yourself then is "Were they capable of thinking on their own" about this? If the answer is "yes", then you are assuming guilt you don't need.

2) In needing to reach out to those you've supposedly hurt, it ISN'T necessary for you to actually physically contact them (or even contact them at all), although the program sort of sets you up to do this. What you can do, in sincerity, is to make contact at your highest level of being - where we are all ONE anyways. In some respect, this may be the better way to do this, as what I've learned from a recent TV program, sometimes "making amends" actually re-opens old wounds and the person originally hurt is being hurt all over again because of the contact. So certainly balance your need to relieve yourself of guilt with the needs of the person(s) you feel you may have originally hurt - will tearing open the old wound actually heal it or make it harder for them to heal? This is the learning of TRUE compassion.

Trusting this helps a bit.

Cheers!
