Purpose can and should change as you become more familiar with the information that the author has to offer. Try not to create to long a list of questions. That creates blocks. Always pick one question you want answered first during an activation pass and then the next one once you've understood the answer. Image you are having a conversation with an author.
The author is standing in front of you you don't throw a pile of questions at them you have one. Once you understand that information. You may notice that another question is redundant or has already been answered.
You're never stuck with your first broad purpose it can become as narrow and focused as you move deeper into the subject.
