Not much, I like to read the covers, forward, and table of contents. Then sit back for a minute or so and reflect on why I want to read this book, what I think this book Might have to offer me, and how I think the information in this book will benefit me towards my goals. Then using those thoughts I set a general purpose. Then dive right in and preview for a bit, however long I feel I need to. Then I re-examine my purpose in light of any new information I gathered form previewing and refine my goals and purpose for engaging in the literature. Then. PR time!

Sure! Try it out for a while. See if it works for you, if yea! then stick with it(Or change it a bit so it works even better). If not...Try another method based on what you've learned. If all you learned was that that method Doesnt work for you. Then think of a completely different approach and try that! Point is, Experiment. You'll never find what works for you unless you find out what wont!
