There are many excellent resources available to you and free. The human resources office in the city in which you live, have a list of workshops that you can attend. One being is What colour is your Parachute or something similar. Effective resume writing, and skills in job interviews. Plus they also have listings of temporary and full time work.
And if you contact the Health Unit they can advise you of support groups in your area. Many of these groups are 12 step programs and people from all walks of life attend. It is there that you will find peers and support in the name of friends and a sponsor. And many 12 step programs such as ACOA. Have access to workshops such as Building Positive Self Esteem. Many of the people that you meet in the programs are very nice people who have also travelled that path you are currently walking.
They have won and so can you.

Hi Keven

Thanks for your reply. I live right now in a small town that does not have much things to offer. I dont want to sound negative but the there is not much going on for people. I do however live near a small city about 45 minutes away. But have no car to get there. So is there something else that i could do right now to get ahead. I do have a public Library is there any good books or tapes you recommend?

Thanks

The local library is an excellent source for material that will help.

In the business section 3 books that I like are. What colour is Your Parachute. Use this for planning your life and making choices to get there.
How to get control of your time and your life. (Alan Lakein) This is a powerful time management tool making for the best use of productive capabilities and to minimize wasteful time.
The One Minute Sales Person is a great book. It has beautiful concepts and shows you how to use your mind to achieve results and the principals can be used universally
In the self-help section Take a look at some of these books. Bradshaw on: The Family A new way of creating Self Esteem. (John Bradshaw) Loving What is (Byron Katie) Unlimited Futures by (Bobbie Stevens.)
John Bradshaw has many of his subjects on tapes you may be able to find them in the tapes and video section in your library. You can ask the librarian for assistance in finding this and much more.

I also recommend any of Napoleon Hill's books, most especially THINK AND GROW RICH, which you can find for free as a PDF online as well as at your local libary I am sure. His other later books such as YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN MIRACLES, GROWING RICH THROUGH PEACE OF MIND, and the book he wrote with W. Clement Stone, SUCCESS THROUGH A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE are all gems of the highest order and pretty much every success guru, teacher, method, school, coach and company owe so much to Napoleon Hill that it cannot even be measured (and most give him credit and quote him over and over again). THE SECRET and all the current teachers of the Law of Attraction (you attract to you what you put your attention and thoughts on, especially those thoughts you give the most time and energy to) are all "disciples" of Napoleon Hill. He lived it, taught it, proved it and wrote it. And it is a all there for us if we want it.

He was and is the real deal. He proved his method from a place worse than where you are now (and had other setbacks later even after he was succesful) and was an advisor to three US Presidents (Wilson, Taft and FDR) and many, many succesful people attribute their success to him. He spend 20 years researching a "science of success". He interviewed giants of his time for many, many hours (days and weeks in some cases), like Henry Ford I & II, Thomas A. Edison, Wilbur Wright, Andrew Carnegie (who "commisioned" him to do this work. Mr. Carnegie gave him no money, because he felt that would compromise the method. He only gave him so letters of introduction. Hill had to find a way to support himself during those 20 years while doing the research and applying what he was learning), Woodrow Wilson, Alexander Graham Bell and many others.

All of the above suggestions from kevin will help you as well. But if you can read Napoleon Hill's books (almost any of them) and really read them, absorb them, take some notes, and begin doing what he suggests and internalzing his wisdom, you will be succesful and get from the situation you are in to somewhere better.

Not only that, but you will begin to realize that the problems you are having now, can even be a "blessing in disguise" that will give you more than you would have had without them.

Check it out. And as I said, if you have access to a computer (and it seems like you do), you can even find some his stuff for free on the internet. I think I got a copy of THINK AND GROW RICH for free from somewhere.

And then when you do begin manifesting, if you need some of these tools here from LSC, I have no doubt that you will be able to afford them.

For right now, I leave you with this as a total free be. I first kind of learned about this from Shakti Gawain's CREATIVE VISUALIZATION (also probably available from your local library and it is a slim volume that can help a lot) but I really began to be inspired to use it from Scott Adams, the creator and cartoonist of the DILBERT comic strip (who used them himself towards his success in many things. He began as a skeptic in it, but figured he had nothing to lose, it only takes a few minutes and if it didn't work, he could always stop. He was also told by the friend who told him about this, that he didn't have to believe it. It would work anyway. He didn't believe it, but it did work and he talks about it, very seriously in the last chapter of his book, THE DILBERT FUTURE. Get that from the library and go right to the last chapter. The rest of the books if funny and worth reading to, but that last chapter is what you need right now):

If you can at least get paper and pencil (or computer), begin writing down as short affirmations, exactly what you DO want (not what you don't. For example, it is better to write "I, Anthero, enjoy the company of my good friends" rather than, "I hope that I will have friends"

Or, "I anthero, have an abundance of money" or "I anthero enjoy my work and am well paid for it", rather than, "I need to get out of debt"

Write down any affirmations that you can a) be definite about, b)image in some way, either feeling, sound, visual, or even just clear thinking about it. Write them in the present tense, as if they are true now. Right them at least 15 times. Do this every day for as long as you need to (if nothing happens within 6 months, either change what you are writing, or stop doing it). You can write more than one thing, but make each one a different sentence that you write 15 times or more.

You have nothing to lose by trying this, just like Scott Adams. And you also do not have to believe it (belief can enhance the effect, but if you can imagine or emotionally feel what you are writing, it will work anyway). You can also say it out loud to yourself.

You might find resistance come up in many ways, including but not limited to, bad habits interfering, negative thoughts about the process or yourself, etc. Let them go and just bring yourself back to what you want. It is a natural part of the process to have the "scum" rise to the surface. That's good, t means that you are getting closer. You can also write those down and then answer them with gentle responses, either verbally or written down, such as "I realize that there is healing taking place here and I know I deserve to have everything I am imagining or even better"

Shakti Gawain says, it is always good if you want to, to add "or even better" as in "I, _______am getting_________ or even better" E.g. "I, anthero am making $80,000 a year or even better"

Or you can just write, or say "Good things are coming to me right now and I deserve them and can accept them" and either before , after or during the process or all three try to feel, imagine, visualize or just think about intensely how you want you life to be. Try using a place or a situation that might represent what it is you want. And you can change it around as much as you want (car, life partner, friends, work, music, travel, whatever).

This is magic and it does work. It is the same power behind prayer, meditation and a lot of the tools that we talk about here. These tools enhance and help this process, but you can begin it right now for free, with just a pencil and paper, a computer, or just saying them out loud and thinking about them. HARD! And persistently. Every day. Multiple times a day. Best before you go to sleep and when you wake up.

You will have to take other actions. And they will present themselves. But you will have to "get in the boat"

It is like that old joke (and since you invoked the boat metaphor, I feel free to use this here)

A holy man who lived in a river valley was praying in the middle of a great flood. The people of the town built a boat. When the water came up the holy man's knees, they came by in the boat and they said,
"Teacher, please get in the boat, we love you and don't want you to die"
He replied, "It is okay, I am connected to the Holy Power of the Universe. My prayers always work, I am focusing being safe and the Holy Source will protect me"
They came by again, when the water was up to his waist. They said the same thing. He replied, "I have no fears, I am connected to the Universal Source. I will be fine"
The water rose to his chin. Same thing. Boat came by, they pleaded, he steadfastly refused saying, "My prayers will work"
Finally he died. He came to heaven. He was peeved to say the least. He said,
"HOLY SOURCE! WHAT DID YOU DO? I THOUGHT WE WERE ONE! I THOUGHT YOU WOULD ANSWER MY PRAYERS!"
A voice came out of everywhere, and said,
"Schmuck! I sent the boat three times!"

anthero, this is all free. Try it. Write and/or say the affirmations, imagine and think about what you want, and watch what happens. Don't give up! It takes some effort to melt the ice, but it will melt. And when the boat comes, don't forget to get it!

And I will hold you also in positive thought and see you as a success with good friends, transportation, work that you enjoy and supports you in many ways. May it be true for you now and always.
