Dear Shawn~~ Thank you for your answer and the extended one in the forum!
Thank you, Jeff and Zak, for such caring input. I am glad I asked this question; it seems to be something that folks are concerned about!

I have had to take a couple of days to mull over your answer as it is deeper than it first appears.

What I came to is that I needed to shift my perspective on life!
Yes, I had always been taught to 'protect myself' when sensing any invasion into my space. I am around psychics and intuitives, healers, and sensitives quite a bit(who else could understand what we feel much of the time?). And there is much concern about energy stealers and the need to protect oneself and learning shielding methods.

This is a Western approach~ even in the movies, the depiction of the martial arts it is a very defensive/offensive picture.

But there is so much more to it than opening a can of "woop-ass" on your assailant.

What I discovered in contemplating Master Lin's advice is that SFQ is much more than a "practice" to achieve health and well-being and to assist others in their healing.

It is actually a Way of Life and change in Heart ! It is truly embracing "I am in the Universe". The discussion, thus far, to me, was pointing out ways to strengthen one's aura and confidence; to love one's enemy, etc...and certainly these are important elements that occur in the SFQ practice.

But I heard for myself words and attitudes of "protection" and shielding. If I practice SFQ enough I will be able to "ward off" this type of person...

Master Lin is saying "forget it!"; don't shield, move the energy as a way of BEING and let it be! If someone wants energy, give it freely; it will only serve you and them. Or not~~ as in the story you shared. ;>

It gives a much needed new understanding to the abused words of one of the great Teachers Yeshua Emmanuel(Jesus):
"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you." (Luke 6:27-31.)

This is such a weight to be taken off of me. I can shed the defensive mode of thinking that I have been a part of for several decades(even as it would be said, "we are all One...). Perhaps not overnight! But a different door has been opened with the words:

“I am in the Universe, the Universe is in my body, you are in my body, the more energy you take, the more I receive, thank you very much.”

Thank you so much Shawn, for these words of Master Lin's...they are very valuable to me!
