Has anyone had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)--which is so widespread these days--and been really helped with SFQ practice? (I'm sure, yes). Perhaps some of you know of someone who has had CFS and is now over it with help from Spring Forest Qigong practice? Perhaps some of you have, or used to have, CFS?

I've had CFS (whatever THAT is!) for over seven years, and have been very busy learning all about natural health through seeing top naturopaths (mainly Ayurvedic), trying to heal. I first found out about qigong during my studies in Wing Chun Kung Fu (which I did for three years full-time). I now know that (for me) a lot of it is digestive and emotionally-related. There are the physical issues around the fact that I got a parasitic infection and a virus of some sort from which I never recovered around the time I came down with it, as well as long-term stress (a BIG factor for me), and that I had a lot of my gut flora ruined by long-term antibiotic use....but all this seems only to have highlighted for me the overriding importance of my emotional health. My emotional resilience has become very low (it feels like the reserves almost hit rock bottom, if I can describe it that way) and often I feel very unstable emotionally in a physical sense, if that makes sense (for example, I have to try to contain myself when I watch a movie as the slightest bit of emotional-sounding music can make me want to just burst out crying). It's as though there are all these emotions that need to be released.

The result is that I am now extremely aware of the physical effects of my emotional responses to my thoughts (that's probably a good thing): I feel it so defnitely in my gut whenever I feel the slightest amount of fear or anger (those two emotions do it for me), and the result of that is that I have trouble digesting my food, much more than someone who doesn't have "CFS" (a label I was never satisfied with, BTW).

Would anyone like to comment on what they have found useful, or know is useful (or think may be useful!) in the SFQ course, or their SFQ practice, to help digestion? (I am saving up for the course, level 1 and 2, but am just putting out my feelers to help me think about the benefits I'll be able to get from the course when I can afford it).

I'd love to hear people's input/experiences/suggestions!

Smiles and thanks.
PS. Another big factor--and one that I just KNOW is going to help me heal--is the FEELING OF BEING SUPPORTED by people. I went through a TERRIBLE time for almost a decade where I was unsupported and unfairly criticised by a group of people who definitely should have been supportive... Just being able to write this down to people who I can already see are supportive by the things they say is already giving me the feeling of being supported--and this is so necessary for my healing. I believe that giving to others helps the giver as much as the receiver... Thank you to all.

Hi brainbody,
You don't have to save up for both level 1 and 2 before you start. Get level 1 and start there. I believe most people in the know would direct you to focus there, even if you got both levels at the same time. You don't have to match exercise technique specifics with illness specifics. You just focus on the exercise, and the specifics are addressed. In the mean time, practice your 18 move qigong every day.
Releasing, is facilitated by relaxing. In general , you want to relax, and keep energy moving. When emotions arise, allow that to happen and love yourself as a response, or exercise self compassion as a response, as opposed to a reaction or self judgement about the experience. Take any tension out of that experience. A simple inner self embrace in the heart as you feel the emotion(smile inward). Then go back to the present moment, as opposed to thinking about anything. Other than just mindfulness, in the meantime , utilize your 18 move qigong with the intention of relaxing, and strengthening your body and spirit. Breath in, like through your skin, from all directions into your lower dan tien as you do your qigong. Think very open, energy from the universe coming in from all directions.

love,
gallen

I had a Fibromyalgia-like condition with debilitating chronic pain (as well as bruises that would appear for no reason) that had gone on for about 4-5 years getting steadily worse. After doing SFQ daily for 2-3 months the pain was basically gone (most of it went away in one day!). I have been pain-free for two years now.

Hello,

I think SFQ is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have had cfs for 13 years. Before I started SFQ I was really sick. There were so many times I did not have the energy to brush my teeth. I could go on and on but i'm sure you understand, being a fellow cfs person. Anyway SFQ does work. I have been practising for a year and a half. I now visit friends, shop, clean the house, I have even been on a vacation. I have heard of other people who have cfs and after a year or so are completely healthy. I think how fast you get healed is very individual. Your emotional problems will disappear within weeks. One of my biggest problems was panic attacks. They would last most of the day for months at a time. Since SFQ, i've had a handful of attacks and they last a hour or two. I have alot of hope. My compassion and love for others is stronger. My love for me is stronger.

Probiotics is very good for the digestive system. You can get them at any health food store.

Hey brainbody! I have lupus, and have been helped a great deal thru diet and supplements(learned thru a Naturopathic doctor). I am mostly a vegan, meaning I periodically eat organic chicken. There are still foods I know I should eliminate, but it is difficult for me. I am in a controlled healing now and feel good most of the time. Rest and being stress free is very important.

I had been looking for a physical practice to assist the healing process when I came upon SFQ. I am not having the amazing results that others describe, but I am feeling ever so much more balanced, and increasingly whole! Things that are deeply rooted in me emotionally are being released(I understand that emotional link very well!), and I am so happy to do my practice! Sometimes I am stronger doing it than at other times, but I am always happy when I do it. The more I do it the better I become.

Please do not wait to buy the Delux package; please just start with Level One. You will be so happy you did!

Much love, healing and support to you! ~~Miriam

Hey thanks Miriam!

I'm so glad the SFQ practice has been helping you in the way you mention. The lightbulb came on for me when I read your sentence, 'Things that are deeply rooted in me emotionally are being released...'. That is where I feel SFQ will benefit me enormously.

I'll be buying the course SOON! (I'll get the deluxe version--I just CAN'T help myself!).

Keep up the gigong practice. I remember the feeling of being HAPPY too when I used to practice my gigong ...

Much love, healing and support in return,
brainbody

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your encouraging post about your experience with CFS and the help you've found practicing SFQ. It really is very encouraging to read about how other people have found help with qigong--my kinesiologist who has been treating me for CFS said that qigong is VERY, VERY good for CFS.

Take care
brainbody
