Dudette: "But cease with the regurgitation...I've already listened to every bit of verbiage you've stated...they are things Paul Scheele states through out his materials. "

What a utter piece of nonsense. You make statements about photoreading not working and you have the gall to tell me about ceasing with regurgitation. You say you don't have any beliefs about the system well i have news for you you do have beliefs about the system. You already stated your beliefs about the system you believe that the photoreading step is of no use. True i don't know you but i have to deal with the information that you present and the information you presented was you don't think the photoreading step of the photoreading system is of much use.

So let me make sure i understand you. You are saying that the things i am saying you have already heard from Paul Scheele. So my question to you is you do not believe Paul Scheele's statements about the other than conscious mind and the photoreading step? That is a question not a statement do you believe Paul Scheele's statements about the other than conscious mind and the photoreading step or you do not believe? Based on what you said in your post you are saying you believe the photoreading step does not have any revelance to the process.

You might want to consider how Paul Scheele has dedicated his life and spent many years in the science of how people learn. It makes no difference to me if you believe photoreading works or doesn't work. I gain nothing if you succeed with photoreading nor does it impact me if you fail with photoreading.

You talk about giving you useful advice. I have already given you useful advice. I shared with you about the advantages of involving another part of the brain in the process obviously you are free to reject that that is fine.

In closing i will share with you that one photoreader employed the photoreading step to get his degree in the field of economics which involved a lot of quantitative analysis & studying of mathematical proofs and derivations.Another photoreader used the photoreading step to get his master degrees in physics and quantum mechanics and a another photoreader used the photoreading step to master the professional engineering exam. I think it is safe to say that all 3 photoreaders would say that the photoreading step had a major impact with their successes.

If you are struggling with photoreading that does not mean that the photoreading step does not work at all even though you might be struggling.

Dudette: some more useful advice for you. You said you were getting hung up in activation. Most of the activation problems people experience are related to not have a purpose or having a very weak purpose. Be real clear on what your purpose is and what you want to get from the book and how you are going to use or apply the information once you have obtained it.

hey guys let's all take a deep breath and relax... that's good!

As we know, learning is best done in a relaxed state, and we are all here to learn, so let's all be friends and help each other photoread!

Sasha's feelings about photoreading are entirely justified... I went through the same feeling myself. Photoreading takes not only an investment in time and effort, but a leap of faith from conventional education. We are all busy people and time, effort and faith are all in short supply in the modern world.

What photoread4me shows is belief in the system - and if you read his website you can see that! And Sasha you have shown belief by investing the money and time so far in buying the deluxe course.

So Sasha I hope you can be inspired by this thread and suspend disbelief a little longer, I'm sure we can help you get the feelings of success that you want.

So I'm wondering, can you give us some examples of your reading, and attached purpose?

Matt

I'm just doing my best to master the course work included in the package.

I don't really feel prepared to read anything other than what was offered as yet. I'm just working on that until I feel the material is internalized. I don't feel that as yet...it's all very theoretical especially the means of bringing the material out of my psyche..

What I find upsetting is that the "recall" aspect of photoreading I spontaneously experience with recalling details in travelling, entering new environments, conversation etc. But those experiences have so little in the way of "mechanics" attached to them. I guess what I'm saying is the feeling is different and perhaps that is what is creating my experience with photoreading.

Don't know...just blocked.

Hi Sasha,

There is a mechanism for the activation of information, it is only "spontaneous" when you consider your memory at a macro level. However this isn't really covered in the PR material... I understood it much better doing the "Memory Optimizer" course.

I wonder whether your frustration with the course is affecting your goal setting. Could you try activating a book with a very specific purpose, perhaps try the Natural Brilliance book?

when you say goal setting I understand you to mean the goal I set prior to starting on a book.

Well, you see that is where my "skimming" comparison comes in. When I read a book in it's entirerity I'm expecting to get information I didn't know I would get. Does that make sense? Otherwise I would just use the index/table of contents and just go right to my material.

You've been very kind. Thank you for taking time to respond to my postings.

Actually no, I don't mean the goal you set before starting out on a book.

Because "to absorb the information" or "learn the subject" is too broad

Photoreading is about actively pursuing information in the book, uncovering the answers to questions that you form as you peel back layers of interesting sections... learning as you go, forming new questions and returning to the text.

Traditional reading assumes that you stand in one place and let the book wash over you, Photoreading and other strategic reading techniques are about being much more active in the learning process.

So each time you pick up the book you should be thinking

1. How much time am i going to spend on this book in this session?
2. What specifically would I like to take away from this session?
3. Is that realistic?

When you have a specific purpose, dive in to the book and activate that material, when you make the purpose specific, with a focused question and keywords in mind, your unconscious mind will direct you to that specific information quicker than just skimming the entire text.

The next time you get in to the book, your purpose might be entirely new, or a derivative of your previous question, based on what you have learnt. Be part of the learning process and you will learn the important stuff way quicker.

Hope that helps.

Matt

Well what do you expect? You were very rude & condescending. You are struggling with learning the process(which is ok confusion is a normal part of the learning process) but that does not give you the right to be rude or obnoxious.

hey guys come on let's all be friends... we are all here for a reason, we all want to talk about photoreading, all experiences are valid and all opinions are just that.

Photoread4me the tone of your post was quite provocative, I think the time for more accusations has passed, you have lots of advice to give from your experiences, so let's keep the posts positive and helpful.
