If you think PhotoReading is just a placebo... wait until you experienced spontaneous activation or Direct Learning. That isn't going to happen until you've worked on a few books. Of course anyone who persists with the system will continue to build the body mind connection and get the same level of comprehension in 1/5th or 1/10th the time.
Is it a placebo? I wondered too when I started but now I can PhotoRead a book and know where to find useful information. That I can dump it and I can even finish a novel with full comprehension and enjoyment in 1/8th the time it used to take me.
PhotoReading instructors also teach the course without the PhotoReading step in one afternoon. That allows the average reader to double or triple their reading speed however they will never know the satisfaction of getting everything they consciously need from the book in a mere 5 minutes if necessary. And skimming isn't what we do we superread. We can superread because we've already mentally processed the information before. It's surprising how much difference there is in understanding of the information thanks to the PhotoReading step.
For those who doubt set up a project for yourself. get two books similar style and size. Apply the 5 day test to both books one you PhotoRead and one you don't. Then make sure you rapid read them both and then compare which was easier to connect with.
