When I do meditation I notice sitting like a lotus position or something may be the best way. It`s just that it hurts after a while, mainly in my knees. This makes me to not relax as I should do. This can`t be the correct way for me to meditate?

Will the pain smooth out after some practice?

Aloha JohnA,

The challenge in this reply will be to not lead your experience.

You can sit comfortably during the meditations or even lie down and receive benefit.

Taking the time to do the hip/leg/ankle exercises Chunyi shows in Level Two is worth the time spent.

If there is discomfort it can be worked through, as the discomfort is in your consciousness. How you feel after running an 800m race at the beginning of the season is completely different than after a season of consistent practice.

Learning how to focus even during discomfort can be a wonderful gift in and of itself.

Much Love, Shawn
