Hi ppl, so this is my first post and just wondered about a couple of things. I have just finished the delux PR course and although i have only PR a couple of books so far with minor success in recall i can see the potential and think i understand a little about the mechanisms of PR to know that its going to take some time, practice and effort to master (just like anything new i guess).

So firstly, i can see what i think is the blip page ok but am a little concerned that no matter how hard i try i cannot see the magic eye picture in the course material, i have tried both the techniques Paul suggests and more but cannot see the image/word hidden within, but i do see the blip page when PR, should i be concerned?

Secondly, i meditate for one hour/day (Holosync), and then for an additional 30 mins in the evening after which i dive straight into PR and activation, the reason i do it at this time is that i feel the meditation gets me into a nice deep relaxed state of alertness to which i feel may give me increased potential when PR/activating. Do any of you more experienced PRs think this may be the case or would i get the same results PR/activating at any other point in the day??

Be well,
Mitch.

Hey Mitch

Congratulations on your dedication to your development!

One of the key things for me in photoreading is learning to change state. So if you are already very relaxed when you photoread then you'll have an advantage, evidenced by your early successes.

As your skill improves, you'll be able to change state much quicker and so your previous state of mind before you photoread will be less important.

Keep it up and be sure to let us know of your successes!

Matt

Hey Matt,
Thanks for replying and the vote of confidence, i know its going to take time to master all the skills required for effective PR. So you think i shouldnt worry about not seeing the magic eye image in the PR course materials providing i can see the blip page etc..??

By the way i was wondering if anyone has found themselves having automated thoughts going on other-than consciously regarding books they have PRd?? I have only PRd/activated the PR book and Natural Brilliance thus far and i cant stop thinking about PR and related aspects etc...Its kinda cool and gives me great motivation to continue, i assume these thoughts are eminating because of the PR step itself. Am i likely to respond like this with other books?? Or you think it depends on existing motivation towards a subject before embarking on a specific book to PR?? I guess some of these questions are obvious to you guys i just wanted to throw out my thoughts to like minded people.

Be well,
Mitch.

Firstly I think that "worry" is counterproductive to relaxation, a fundamental part of accelerated learning and hence photoreading.

So to quote Bobby McFerrin, don't worry, be happy!
You can see the blip page, you are PR'ing fine, move on!

PR gets my mind swimming in many ways, sometimes I have dreamt about scenes in novels I haven't actually rapid read yet!

Other times, I have come to conclusions about theories and ideas that are based on stuff I haven't activated and, occassionally I get a number in my head that is the most important page in the book i am activating, to meet my purpose.

And my answer is the more active you are in the reading process, the more effect you can expect your reading to have on your everyday thoughts. Beware... it's addictive!

Hi Mitch.

I would not be concerned with the blip page. You can always look at the four corners of the book and notice a imaginary x.

What i would focus on is purpose.Be very clear about what it is that you want from the book you are activating and be real clear about how you are going to use the information that you are acquiring.

Purpose a laser like focus with what your goals are for the book. Active, questioning, probing. What else is in this book that will help me.

Do multiple superreading and dipping passes with mindmapping.

Mitch, I wouldn't be concerned about the magic eye exercise. I've got a decade of playing with such stereograms and I find the one in the manual to be harder than most to see.

One difference between the skill to see the blip page in photoreading and seeing stereograms, in my experience at least, is that stereograms are quite sensitive to the distance from your eye to the page. So while there's a range of distance I can move a book I'm photoreading that's typically a foot or more, it seems stereograms need to be within an inch or so of their "sweet spot" distance for me to see the hidden image.

If you decide you'd like to pursue stereograms, I'd suggest you go to the local bookstore or library and browse through a collection of them. Look for images that are wider and use color. A collection will also help you in starting out because even with experience some images are much easier than others to see. (A hint for the image in my photoreading manual: see if, in looking past the page, you notice an apparent difference between the depth of the center and edge portions of the image.)

Cheer,
Tyler

There's no real need to pursue the stereograms - if you see the blip page great, if you don't imagine the big X and you'll be fine.
