I would not be concerned with the blip page. You can always look at the four corners of the book and notice a imaginary x.
What i would focus on is purpose.Be very clear about what it is that you want from the book you are activating and be real clear about how you are going to use the information that you are acquiring.
Purpose a laser like focus with what your goals are for the book. Active, questioning, probing. What else is in this book that will help me.
Do multiple superreading and dipping passes with mindmapping.
