Sorry, but you confuse me more than explain me what a good purpose is.
Pixel posted this:
""After I read this I have a pool of beginner exercises to choose from - for 10 minutes or 60, for the subway or at work - that will be good for health and wellbeing"?
That purpose might have to change. The book might prove that there is only 1 10 minute exercise and the 60 minute there might be only 2 or even none suitable. If the book is relevant - it might not be only pixel can decide that after his preview and postview. Pixel might discover here is a greater pool of minute exercises. Allow yourself to be more flexible.

And for the artbooks "After I read this I know better what others have already done on that field so I don't repeat but can contribute something new" Did I get it? :P at least I can't wait to try again! "
This is a very board purpose and will probably give a quick overview and be done with the book in 20 to thirty minutes. If that's all pixel truly wants from the book then pixel probably could have PhotoRead the book and left it on the bookshelf.
Again if pixel remains flexible with the purpose and enters into a conversation with the author pixel might discover an opportunity to learn about a different technique to use to experiment with in the creation of new art. Then the purpose could be refined to learn about it so that pixel can try it avoiding the problems that the author had already solved.
But you said on your post after he posted that that this is not a good enough purpose, and i asked you on my last post for you to give us an example of a "good purpose" but you probably misunderstood my request thinking that i wanted more explanations of a "good/clear purpose"
Like I said the original purpose is very broad and rather unusual in that it focuses on what is not wanted which is hardly a gain especially in art where it's probably easier to search for what hasn't been done rather than what has for the purpose of excluding it. Most people won't connect with such an idea.
A good purpose is a plan to reach a goal. It considers your ultimate application of the information. For example I'm travelling and I know my destination. I can obtain books that will tell me what services are available so my first purpose for the book might be to find a nice hotel within my budget near the venue that I will be visiting. So that I have a place to sleep.
I might return to the book or books to find out what sights are nearby what's worth seeing. So that I can have some sightseeing destinations during my free time. Another look might be to find out different places to eat, what the local food is and what other travellers think is good to try. So that I can try new foods. I might again have the purpose of finding where things like police, doctors, dentist are, just in case. Then I might have to check local laws so I don't breach them and where the embassy is in case I do. Each time I have a purpose. I will probably have a new one with each realisation I have that the book has information on this or that..
I know it's disappointing for the regulars to see the people experiencing problems with the system only give us one purpose that won't take them in the direction of their first mentioned goal.
There isn't just one purpose for a book. Count the chapters and multiply by the number of people activating or reading the book and you'll find it's a very personal thing based on the individuals need and lifetime of experience, prior knowledge of the subject, how important it is to them and how much time they are willing to spend right now.
