I've PRed a few books and wasn't successful.
So I analyzed what I did wrong (weak purpose, hard gaze instead of soft gaze) and where able to PR two books yesterday the correct way.
Today I activated one of the books, "The Power of Persuasion" by Robert Levine, which is about what people do to get other people do what they want them to do.
First I PRed it again, then I read the MP-Questions I had formulated from the Chapter titles yesterday and started Superreading and Dipping.
I was relaxed, open minded and passive (in the sense that I didn't try to force anything).
Even though I have already read the book about a year ago, there was no familiarity with the text, I wasn't drawn to any words, superreading was skimming.
So I read the chapter conventionally and found that there was some interesting information in it.
For an example: The author describes a study about how people react to someones orders if they perceive him/her as an authority.
The experiment was made in a hospital. Nurses where asked if they would give their patients medication, if someone would call by phone and tell them to do.
100% said: No.
This was the control group.
Then they tested it. One of the investigators called up some nursing stations, told the nurses to be a hospital physician and told them to give a patient a massive dose of a drug.
95% did.
95% of the patients would have died, if the nurses wheren't interrupted.
Now I ask myself what I did wrong.
Maybe you can help me.
1. Previewing the book (Content, Index, . . .)
2. Writing out Trigger words, One-Sentence-Summary and Purpose.
3. Stating purpose: I want to know how people get other people to do what they want so that I can get what I want from other people.
4. Ideal SoM, Affirmations, Tangerine
5. Photoreading: I turn the book upside down, look over the top, no blip page
6. Close book, Affirmations
7. Postview: MP-Questions: Whom do people trust?; What is the "Contrast Principle"?; How can I win people's hearts and minds?
Do I just lack of practice or have I done something wrong?
I also have a few other questions:
- What should I do after Photoreading? I mean can I go on with normal activities or do I have to keep my mind free?
- Can I PR another book a few minutes after PRing a book or would this confuse my sub-con?
- How fast could I turn the pages at maximum without missing information?
- Does font size have an influence on PR? Or to say it different: Do I need to be able to read the words consciously so that my sub-con is able to work with it?
As I understand PR it's not about reading words but rather decoding patterns.
If you have an E-book and you decrease the size of the page you can see that every page, every word has its own pattern. This leads me to the thought that it's not necessary to be able to read the text to be able to process it subconsiously.
What do you think? Are we able to PR four or more pages at once?
- In an NLP book by Rex Sikes I read that we shouldn't use affirmations but (affirmative) questions instead.
Instead of: "As I PR my concentration is absolute."
Use: "Is my concentration absolute as I PR?"
While statements cause conflicts in the mind, questions force it to answer and react stronger.
It became quite a long first thread. I hope you don't mind.
