Hello again,

Conversing with a book . . . after Matt's suggestion to see it as a conversation with the author I had made a major improvement in understanding PR but in the last two days when I activated books there was always a voice in my head that said: "Conversing with a book? Are you crazy? You can't converse with a book. It's lifeless. Just black ink on paper."

As a writer ... I'm not sure if it's disappointing or insulting ... to be informed that our legacy is nothing more than "lifeless black ink" is sad.

One wonders why we should write . . . in the first place.

I'm sorry.
I didn't want to hurt your feelings, Alex.
Before PR I never thought about the person who wrote the book (novel) I read. Independent of how I liked the story. For me the printed letters were just the medium one used to transfer his story into an other persons mind.
I recognize the paradox in my statement, but this was my mindset.

But I assume that as long as my mind is not used to PR I won't be able to do this.

Wow. That's a self imposed limitation. Do you really want to live by that. Like I said be more flexible and notice more what you are getting.

Later in your comment you say yourself that it takes about 21 days to create a new habit. Isn't this also a new habit or part of the new habit the brain has to learn?

It would be perfect if every 13 year old started learned to PhotoRead in their first year of high school because that is when they are ready to remove the training wheels they had for learning to read.

I don't know much about the history of school but I think there was little improvement in the teaching methods in the last centuries.Except that the teachers are not allowed to physically punish their pupils anymore, they teach the same way as centuries ago.

If you want the teachers to teach a new way to extract informations of a book they will have to learn it too. But before there will be commissions and try-outs at a few selected schools.

To get PR taught in school a lot of people, from politicians down to the teachers, will have to overthink their own habitual approach to reading, usually used for 30+ years. Not to forget the parents ("What was good enough for me, is good enough for my child.")

Just think about the potential of PR.
If 13-year old children would be able to PR they would be able to make their high school diploma with 14 or 15.
If you think more about it, PR would force a revolution of the whole school system.

Otherwise, if I think about the comments at Amazon about the PR book . . . how many people would be able to understand PR, accept that PR works and be able to use PR themselves?

On the other hand for the first three steps of PR I need approximately 15, maybe 20 minutes. Depends on how long I need to relax.

Wasting time mate. It takes 2 to 5 minutes for a beginner and 30 seconds or just doing the prepare (ideal state and purpose) along with a couple of deep breaths for the experienced.

2 to 5 minutes for all three steps together?

The problem with relaxation is that when I get into the ALS I suddenly hear my heart beat which I usually don't recognize. My pulse also goes up to about 90 beats/second.
I think it's mentally. I probably make myself too much pressure.

But going multiple times through a book . . . I know that I will be faster with PR but my mind tells me that I will be slower.

Isn't it amazing how the mind can defy logic? Earlier you were saying you wanted to get it done in 20 minutes. You know you can get books done in 5 to 20 minutes? - Just depends on your purpose for reading the book.

In an other thread I read that Pete Bisonette(?) of LSC is able to do this. He said that he recommends for beginners to PR 3 to 10 books a day for two to three months. So it's just a matter of practice.
The problem is that it seems impossible to me to find so many books that really interest me. I'm very picky if it comes to selecting books to read. The advantage is that I seldom read boring, crappy or useless books. The disadvantage is that I read less than I would like to.

One should think that your brain works for you. It does but sometimes you have to constantly force it to do so.

It works perfectly for you. It is as you believe.

Could be taken right from my NLP workbook.

You're simply wanting to short cut the steps and are a tad inflexible because all you need to do is follow the steps.

You are right.

Alex Wrote If you search the forum you'll find my experiment where I gave a detailed report of my experience with a number of activation layers. My user name was AlexK.

I'll read it.

Please do. You'll notice I went through the experience and wonder of being a beginner again in that challenge. What it took for me to get through to the end of the book.

I read your thread and have to say it's very interesting. Exactly what I needed. Thank you for the recommendation.

For the third time I have to thank you for you responsiveness.
I promise to be a more active and patient PR student now so that I'm able to PR before you have rewritten the PR book a fifth time for me alone.
