Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and thought I’d say hi. I actually had several questions but this forum has addressed almost all of them. I am a 12-year veteran police officer. I am 36 and going back to school for software engineering. I will be almost 40 when I complete my bachelor’s degree and have had concerns about gaining employment for the first time in a young man’s industry at my age. Still, Anthony Robbins and Brian Tracy along with a few others have me remaining positive. I also feel that the tremendous wealth of knowledge I can gain from PR will counter any problems I’m having with my age.

That being said, I am behind the curveball as well as behind the pack. I want to catch up and even surpass those of my age in the IT and business world before I retire. I want to be an IT director, CIO and maybe even a CEO before all is said and done 20-30 years from now. I have a lot of education to go. I’d eventually like to get a master’s degree in software engineering and an MBA. I know that sounds ambitious but at least for now, I am passionate about it. I also think its important to read a lot including trade journals, whitepapers, books of all kinds including coding, technical, business management and leadership and of course researching whatever company you apply for and the industry which they service.

I just purchased the Photoreading paperback (1999) used on Amazon for about $4. My hope is to get through it in the next week and begin practicing what I learned and photoreading everything I can get my hands on. Once I fully understand the photoreading skills which I learned from the book, I plan to purchase and use the PhotoReading Deluxe Course on CDs. I hope to later attend a workshop, retreat or seminar in order to really master photoreading.

The fall semester begins in about a week. I don’t expect to have mastered PR skills by then but will continue to work hard at it. I will be going to Disney World for 11 days with my family in September and in the event that I may possibly have any downtime, I hope to be PR and working on PR skills. Especially since I will be doing schoolwork while I’m down there.

I have found the success stories in this forum to be motivating. The testimonials of your success lead me to fully believe that PR works and can work for me also. So thank you.

If i could offer anything thing to you it would be to stress how important and crucial purpose is to the photoreading system.

I think many times when people are struggling with activation and encountering difficulties it usually comes down to not having a purpose.

The steps to the photoreading system are pretty straightforward and simple.

I cannot stress enough how important it is when activating a book to have a real clear purpose of what you want from the book and to have questions that you want the book to answer.

If you successfully learn to PhotoRead from the book alone getting the course later is a bit redundant. The course is an easy way to learn PhotoReading as it gives you clear exercises to follow.
