Hi.
It has been shared many times on the forum not to try to learn photoreading on school material and to learn photoreading on something that does not have a grade attached to it say for example a self help book. Then after you know how the system works then transfer that skill to school materials.
After we have given the above mentioned advice some people choose to ignore the advice and insist on trying to learn photoreading on school material
I will leave that decision up to you whether you choose to follow our advice or ignore our advice.
I am going to give some information and in this example the person that is activating the material is assumed to be a experienced photoreader who has already mastered the photoreading system and knows how to activate.
First let me start with purpose because without purpose the system will not work. I, or anyone else for that matter cannot establish a purpose for you anymore than that i can eat your food for you or breathe for you. You have breathe for yourself, you have to eat your own food so that you can receive the nutrients and nourishment. Your purpose comes from within you. So you need to know why you need to know this information and you need to have a outcome, in other words you need to have a understanding of how you will use the information you are learning.
Your purpose is not set in stone. Your purpose can and may possibly change as you activate.
Your mind-probing questions should definitely be related to your purpose. It is probably best to begin with 3 mind-probing questions. As i cannot tell you what your purpose should be i cannot do your mind-probing questions for you that is something you need to do for yourself. Your mind-probing questions are related to your purpose.
For material that is academic in nature skittering would be ideal. You may want to consider a combination of skittering and superreading.
Your post says nothing about a mind-map. You definitely want to do a mind-map it will help you focus with activation. Do your mind-map after you have done a activation pass of skittering or superreading. With a textbook chapter you should spend 20 minutes skittering then working on the mindmap for 10 minutes. You should probably begin with doing 6 different activation passes and make sure you take a 5 to 7 minute break after you are done activating.
Textbook material wil take much longer than a regular book.
