The subconscious mind can piece together the optical images transmitted to the rods (peripheral vision) of your eye and peripheral vision is actually stronger than central (rod) vision. I have myopia, which has actually improved due to using san gaze in photoreading, and often PR (PhotoRead) with my glasses off, to let my peripheral vision do the work better.

Then why do people wear glasses instead of just going around without them and subconsciously piece together optical images?!?!?!
