I have the memory optimizer and have used it quite frequently.

I cannot tell if it works or not, it is such a subjective thing, and I have nothing to quantify it with.

However, my memory seems razor sharp now. I usually learn something for good after passing over once and then reviewing it briefly.

However, I am looking for ways of organizing the information better for long term retention.

Is that the point of the Memory Optimizer program? I've been very interested in it, cause I really want to develop an organization system in my mind for medical school, to help me make it through a little easier.

What else do you all recommend for developing better memory and organization?

Have any of you had good experiences with the Memory Organizer?

Here's an exercise from Donna Eden (whom some of you may be familiar with):

HOW TO KEEP YOUR MEMORY SHARP

For your memory to stay intact over the years, it is necessary for energies to flow freely through the suture lines in your skull. While these junctures tend to become less flexible with age, a simple procedure that will take about a minute each day can keep oxygen and cerebral-spinal fluids, as well as subtle energies, moving through them:

1. Place your left hand over your heart and your right hand on the right side of your head, palm next to your right ear, fingers extended upward over your head.

2. Breathe deeply four times while holding this position--in through the nose, out through the mouth. Raise your body with the in-breath, relax it with the outbreath.

3. Move your right hand to the back of your head, and repeat the breathing.

4. Now place your right hand over the right side of your chest, your left hand by your left ear, and repeat the breathing.

5. Finally, place the palm of your left hand on your forehead with your fingers going up onto the top of your head and again use the same breathing.

Do this daily, perhaps when you first sit down at your desk, computer, or TV, or while you are warming up your car, and you will not only be helping to retain your memory, you will be maximizing its effectiveness.

The Memory Optimizer is all about improving your memory, not just memorizing for the short term. If you continue to use the techniques presented in the course your memory will continue to improve and you will find you can more easily remember new information, names, where you put your keys, etc.

Despite what most people used to think about memory, that memory is a thing we have, that we either have a "good" memory or a "bad" memory, memory is actually a process that we can improve through training. The point of the Memory Optimizer is to reveal what memory really is, how the brain works, and how anyone can improve his or her memory.

More use of the Memory Optimizer should definitely work, and here's something else that should help if you're interested: http://www.wendi.com/cart/html/memory.html

Thanks for pointing out the http://www.wendi.com website. I noticed her technique is mainly using hypnosis. The different areas of self improvement the website lists is amazing.

I was wondering how effective these tapes are, and the pros and cons of using hypnosis for self improvement in the above areas?

InquiringMind:

I can say that I think hypnosis and NLP (which Wendi also is certified in and uses) has great potential for change, but I only have a couple of her programs, and at this point haven't had them for very long. So I can't give a "real life" testimonial at this time, but if I see good results from using her materials, I'll be sure to let you know.

The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is if you're one of those people that isn't highly suggestible. For each track, Wendi helps you relax at the beginning to put you in a more receptive state of mind, so theoretically, the results should be excellent. Hope this helps.
