Anger is not good or bad, beneficial or detrimental.

It just is.
It is neutral.

However...What you DO with the anger, how you express, act, etc can have positive or negative consequences.

This is important. The anger is just energy. Neutral. It may be a call to action. If so, give it something to do- something that is constructive, otherwise just let it go.

Either way - Get some excersize, a brisk walk might be all it takes. Anger is alot like the stress resopnse, the fight or flight- cortisol and adrenalin flow, blood sugar and blood pressure go up, it is good for you to do something with it.

Hope this is helpful

Thank you. I've never thought of myself as brave.

"I may look alone in this trial, but I do not stand alone. I stand with every person, living and dead, that has told the truth and maintained that truth, even when no one believed those people except themselves and God. I stand with them to make sure that they are not alone. And we stand together -- we stand for truth."

It sounded better in my head than what I've written here, but that's not important. The important thing is that I didn't leave that court in shackles. I was freed. And that's what enabled me to release the person. I wrote him a note, saying that I released him, and that I hoped that he would be successful and one day even forgive himself for what he did to me, and possibly others.

Thank you for your suggestions. They are all very helpful.

You are most welcome. I am glad that they help.

And as far as never having thought of yourself as brave: well, now you can!

And au contraire regarding that affirmation about standing with others who stand for truth: I really, really like this--the wording, the clarity, the rhythm and when I read it out loud it helps me! So with your kind permission, I am going to use this as an affirmation for myself. I really need this right now.
Thank you! So we are even!

All the best in your continuing healing (as we all do!)

Sure, you can use it as an affirmation. That's a good idea, actually -- I might use it with my own affirmations. You're very welcome!

Hi, vitaman. I'm not very good with anger. I often take it out on people, which isn't good. Sometimes exercise helps. Thanks for your suggestion.

One more post:

I found listening to the "Focus and Concentration" Paraliminal very effective in calming down my anger against myself. Its message is to focus on the present and see how that can contribute to the future, which complements the "You Deserve It!" Paraliminal when it says that in the past, I did the best I could based on what I knew. Together, I take them to mean that the past is done and over with -- success begins today. Thanks so much for the work everyone does on this forum and Learning Strategies. I really am grateful!

I have been following this thread and find it helpful. Thanks to all who participated. I had some childhood events that have left me with some anger that persists. I recently found this quote, and I don't remember who the author is so I apoligize to the author. I have found it helpful to think about this quote when the anger bubbles up. It reminds me to release it and move on.Here is the quote:

He who angers you conquers you.

A quick google search turns up a LOT of pages all attributing it to Sister Elizabeth Kenny, who was a very interesting person all on her own. Quite an interesting story:

hi
this is the first time i have visited the forum.
the message from neweyes resonated with me, as i found the belief paraliminal created depression in me when i listened to it. i am afraid to try it again, as i spent most of my life depressed and with the help of some seminars, books, self development, managed to overcome it.

i have quite a collection of learning strategies material, and actually came to the website to check on a few of the paraliminals i do not have...wish i had bought them when they were offered as a package. Creating Sparks, Break the Habit, Peak Përformancë, and Talking to Wïn specifically.

anyway, i love the paraliminals. the effects are more profound sometimes than at other times, i often fall asleep while listening, so miss out on some of the benefits. i am amazed at how different they sound each time, i guess i really have worse concentration than i am aware of.

i spoke to paul scheele quite a while ago while on a teleconference, and mentioned about the depression coming from this paraliminal, and he told me at the time there were new paraliminals coming out, which indeed have.

thank you

Hmm. I haven't listened to "Belief" in a while. I might do that tonight.

"Belief" got me depressed, as I kept on banging my head against the belief that I didn't deserve happiness because of what had happened to me in the past. That's why I purchased and listened to the "You Deserve It!" CD in the first place.

To update you all on it, after time and effort dealing with my anger, which is simply depression turned outward, I no longer feel angry after I listen to it. I suppose it's because I've resolved the issue with my past and have finally forgiven myself.

Now, I have a new issue: I get anxious about my future after I listen to it. But then I listen to the "Focus and Concentration" Paraliminal, which helps me focus on what I want to do in the future and gives me the confidence that I will get there, that I deserve that success, as well as all the successes along the way.

So, ramona0773h, I highly recommend the newest 4 Paraliminals. "You Deserve It!" continues where "Belief" leaves off, and the other three complement it and each other. Besides, it's not good to escape from your feelings, even painful ones. It's best just to face them and get through them the best you can.

You can do it!

This is from the EFT website: http://www.emofree.com/

What is EFT?

EFT is based on a new discovery that has provided thousands with relief from pain, diseases and emotional issues. Simply stated, it is an emotional version of acupuncture except needles aren't necessary. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips. The process is easy to memorize and is portable so you can do it anywhere. It launches off the EFT Discovery Statement which says...

"The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system."

I have been using it to deal with physical pain as well as to work through issues. You can download the manual for free and the founder provides all sorts of free information on it. There is also an introductory video on it on the website: www.tapping.com

I purchased the PhotoReading system and while it doesn't specifically mention "EFT", the Results Supercharge DVD shows Paul Scheele tapping on the meridians used in EFT. I'm only mentioning that here to give it more credibility!

One possible side effect is that as you tap or "EFT" on an issue, the feeling may shift and then you'll have to tap on that. For example, you may tap on "Even though I feel so angry about [event]" and then you may feel a bit sad and you'll have to tap on the sad feeling.

I've tapping from issue to issue. Releasing one usually allows us to see (the underlying cause). I am thinking that EFT may be a great addition to all your personal development "tools" and it's free
