hi PR'rs,

I wondered how long it took for you guys to make effective use of Photoreading (like really get a good result on a test or recall a lot of things from what you read) could you do that after you read the whole manual or all tapes, or was it already before that? I'm now about to listen to tape 3 about photoreading, so I don't think I'm really able to photoread effectively, I only recalled a few words from the dictionary after photoreading it on the first tape.

Also, is it possible to learn a new language by just reading an english/spanish dictionary?

Hey steelpan,

I received the course on a Monday. By that Saturday I had finished the course. I photoread my first book on that day. On Sunday I superread and dipped the text. I asked a friend to quiz me on things from the book, and I was able to answer all questions correctly. I still find myself getting insights about the book while watching television programs related to it, or hearing something related to it. It turns out that those ideas and insights I have are correct (I look it up in the book if I'm not 100% sure whether the thought is legitamate or not).

I haven't tried the photoreading a linguistic dictionary yet, but I don't think it will help you learn a language. You most likely will be able to recall what a word means after photoreading it if you hear it being spoken on television. More often than not, you won't though. Dictionary's have word for word translations most of the time, and not conversational translations. It's definitely worth a try, and I can almost assure you at least some results.

Good luck with your photoreading and if you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

It takes a bit more to learn a language than just PhotoReading the translation dictionary.

How much you recall after activation depends on your purpose.
