Wow, that was kind of unexpected. sure feels good to know that there's some people out there I can connect with, (and not just David D. but also on Derren Brown!) Anyways, I took my Sphinx of Imagination CD out once again and listened to it. I bought it couple months ago after hearing David D recommend it, and ya, I've watched every single one of David D's DVDs, really great, also both his ebooks, also Mystery's 2002 workshop and also his 5 DVD set, I've also watched Lance Mason's body language and one more of his, currently reading Magic Bullet by Savoy (or Sinn, can't remember, but I guess it doesn't really matter if you don't know the other guys too well other than David D.) ya, David D helped me a lot on my inner confidence. But for the Sphinx, well, I just listened to it the second time, haven't noticed any differences once again, and the forums I googled seem to say similar things that unexperienced photoreaders say on the photoreading forum. I did like one guy's post tho

It's great. I love it!

Marketing at its best. They reach at least 3 goals at the same time:

1. They prevent p2p-sharing so they'll sell more.

Whatever... They could have included some brain-wave-generator-like effects (this topic has been discussed once in a while here) - I'm sure this works, but I'm sure they don't know how good some encoders handle things like this. Maybe they included some hidden things as well like "backward recording" (My religion teacher at highschool told us once we should not listen to "stairway to heaven" - No joke!) or low volume hypnotic talk ... I don't know if/how this works (I doubt it), but if (at least a part of) it is not consciously audible, it should be at least damaged by lossy encoding.

I have some experience with hypnosis/trance. I'm sure it works and it's good if it's done right. IMO it's recommendable to look into this guided by a experienced hypnotist/therapist/psychologist who can react on what happens with you. Probably this CD+your hifi can't do this.

I hope noone of us will ever be in a situation where we see no other way to reach our luck than listening to a CD like this.

But if the CD worked for you, that's cool too, I might just not be easily influenced by those kinda things. I haven't had much chance to read any of Derren Brown related books (there's some pretty good ebooks out there that teaches a lot of his tricks, google) but I have downloaded (through p2p) almost all of his channel four episodes and even tried listening to the count one through six the guy does during his Russian Roulette episode. I still can't figure out how he tells. Personally, I started out on the whole self-development thing one and a half years ago at grade 11 after getting rejected, and going through serious socio-horrible-pyschologically dmging life. (I've got nothing to thank my parents for for the childhood they gave me, tho they're not that horrible, just horrible parenting) anways, the past one and a half year, I was also consumed by self-help. Especially cuz of David D, I ended up reading more books in six months period than I did during my entire grade 6-12 years. After finally getting somewhat control over my social life and becoming somewhat more attractive personality-wise, tho I haven't gone full monty yet, I came across Derren Brown (was always interested in psychology stuff from early childhood, just never got to study them, ps: I only spent my time studying and never socializing until end of grade 11, one of my own perosnal reasons of having had social difficulties, self to blame) Well, I found out that to learn the tricks of Derren Brown, there's a whole list of books I would have to read to follow through his footsteps, and that's when I started looking up speedreading, and then after reading through one book on speedreading, discovering photoreading. Ok, here I am, working at Futureshop, and blogging on this forum trying to learn photoreading. O, I also got an e-mail reply back from Lee Cherry today that she received my cheque for the seminar on November 30th. Damn, can't wait until seminar starts. Oh yea, and thanks for the advice on Brian Tracy and Tony Robbins, I already listened to Brian Tracy's audio version (forgot which one it was but listened to it twice: the one David D says he listened to a dozen times in his trailer when he was a kid) I also I have almost all (I think) of Brian Tracy's series (of course torrented cuz I downloaded like a year ago when I was eh-hem short of funds) Ya, tell me which one, I have like twenty Brian Tracy series, each like over ten hours, or if all of them are good, you can just tell me so. I was also in the middle of listening to Tony Robbin's Personal Power series (the one that goes for 30 days) and was on like CD 20 but my mp3 player broke down and I have to wait for my Futureshop Paycheque in order to buy my new mp3 phone or an ipod nano (new generation).
