Hi there,

why is it important to do your mind map after each activation pass? Because I find it difficult to add to the mind map after the activation pass.
If the chapter was big, and I was skittering to find answers to mind probing questions, some of the explanations are very detailed, so I find it difficult to not do traditional reading to get it!! I also find that after an activation pass, all my mind recalls is a couple of key words. So I always find myself mind mapping during the activation pass and this not how you are supposed to do it (so it says in the course)?

My multiple activations actually take longer than traditional reading therefore in this situation, photoreading techniques are not speeding things up for me.

How do you remedy this?

If your multiple passes are taking longer check your purpose. Mind mapping helps train the mind to stay active while reading.

If you feel you need to start traditional reading check your question. What did you want answered> You're allowing yourself to fall into passive reading.

Remember to keep the activation passes short. Set a timer. It's easy to overrun and lose sight of the goal if you don't have something to remind you you've got to pull back and check where you are heading.

Like a plane flying to it's destination. You have to check frequently that you are on course. Leave it too long and you wind up making major detours.
