It doesn't look like it uses the unconscious or "other-than-conscious" mind. I skimmed through it, and it seems largely useful for the Rapid Reading part. As that is the most time consuming component of the PhotoReading course.
You need to set aside about 2 months for this course. (In addition to PhotoReading, if you haven't done that yet!)
