As you might know, that's Pete Bisonnette in the video. I hear he used the Photoreading Whole Mind System on up to ten books a day for a long time.
When you do this, I hear great things happen. Making it become second-nature will make activation easier.
Preparing isn't hard. It really only takes a second or two. He probably just quickly skimmed the first page he was looking at (during that time he was just sitting there) to preview it. Then he photoread.
He underwent the process of "spontaneous activation" (I believe), and just noticed his thoughts and went with them.
I never use a mind-map, well, I do sometimes. But barely ever. I'm sure if you use mind-maps a lot, sooner or later, you won't have to.
This is nuts? Well, maybe, but not really.
