Damned, I just lost it. They changed the interface on the MSN Gaming Zone's backgammon, and it "broke" one of the rules of the game. I've decided to stop playing backgammon, although I loved the game and had been playing it for over four years. It's not worth the fustration.

The fastest methods I've used for eliminating anger are the Sedona Method www.sedona.com or Emotional Freedom Technique www.emofree.com

The self esteem supercharger paraliminal is also very helpful.

I also highly recommend reading Power vs. Force by David Hawkins. See: www.veritaspub.com. Just reading the book will help raise your Level of Consciousness (LOC) dramatically. Anger calibrates at 150 on a Scale of Consciousness. LOC 200 represents courage which is where the scale begins to tip toward the side of truthfullness and freedom. "There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting igonorance- that principle is: Contempt prior to Investigation."

Richard,

In the movie "Donnie Darko," there is scene where Donnie's gym teacher asks him to read from a card with some sample life experience and draw an x between "fear" and "love" on the board to illustrate where his life's experiences fall with in the two. He tells the teacher "it's not that simple...life's more complicated than that...one can't just categorize everything into two extremes..."

Because I have a mind, and understand my mind, anyone who tries to "calibrate" every human emotion on a "Level of Consciousness" strikes me as a silly, silly person who is existing only because there are too many people in this world who want to believe in simple, dualistic explanations of everything.

Anyone who takes the time to actually read (photoread?) Power vs. Force will know that the Map of Consciousness is far from being a "simple, dualistic explanation."

See:

However, I do respect and appreciate your point of view. Thank you for your valuable contributions to this forum.

Peace,

Robert

A good book to read on anger, I think, could be Destructive Emotions. They talk a lot about different emotions and thoughts that create a beneficial environment in the body and mind.

Quite possibly a cure for anger could be compassion. I am sure that getting over the immediate response that creates a powerful and resilient brain chemistry in which many reasonable thoughts are impossible is a big hurdle.

Have you tried cycling through the 3 perceptual positions with a friend or therapist helping you control your states? Take someone or something that makes you angry and go through the positions over and over until it's almost impossible for you to be made about the issue anymore. I have found that this is not only helpful with anger, but creates a lot of other improvements, too.

You'll want to do it with the presupposition about positive intentions fully in mind. That is, while behavior may not seem to exhibit it, the intention behind the behavior is always positive. It's just that everyone isn't in a state of mind or system of beliefs that allows the positive expression of that intent.

I heard that hitting objects can reduce the amount of anger!

That's why there's many holes in my house walls! lol

I mean seriously, I lose control when I'm angry, and I might hit anything in front of me!

But my blood pressure goes up!!

Anyway....
