Hi, how are you guys? Hopefully youre doing fine !

I have a problem with concentration or to say it in other words to keep on activating with this high level of concentration when I skitter or rapidread a book.
I have to focus on what is written to fullfil my purpouse and this in high Speed, when I would slow down, it would take me much longer to skitter a 300Pages book, I'm taking about 30 seconds a page.
1.How long Do you need to activate? 2.And how many passes through the Book do you normally do? 3.Do You sound out the words when you skitter or rapidread? When not, perhaps I missed this point, because without sounding out, for me it is much easier to "read" this large number op pages, but I have the feeling, that I miss the information without sounding out loud ...
I'm looking forward to get some advice/help...

Best regards from Germany

Hi Felix!

I am not an expert but i can give you some answers...

Sorry for my poor German))

Best wishes,
AndriDem

Hi AndriDem gutes Deutsch! :-)

But we can talk in english, so everyone can learn from your wise words!
So you think we should spent this long time for skittering and get just one chapter done? So it would take a newbie 3 hours to activate on chapter, or even more! Damn, thats a long time! When you see it from this point, the "magic" in PRing seems to dissapeer :-(.
I'm asking myself why Paul dosen't say a thing about this time management and how long it really takes, so that a newbie doesn't think he is to stupid for PR, because of the missing "magic" resalts he wants to gain?!
Isn't there a way to do it faster, like Paul does on TV? Or is this cut and just show? I'm willing to learn the system to it's best!

Thanks for reply

Hey Felix,

I can give you some advice, but I also have a question for you.

So here's my only advice to you, since the same thing happened to me and it worked for me.

If you're losing concentration, you're most likely not in the accelerated learning state. Try doing the mental countdown, with a few deep breaths. Try feeling 5 heartbeats, without touching your chest. Just by feeling it beat.
Also try telling yourself a few affirmations before activating, just like you do before photoreading. Just tweak it a bit.

For example,
Take the "As I photoread, my concentration is absolute" affirmation

and turn it into

"As I activate, my concentration is absolute"

And also take "All that I photoreading makes a lasting impression on my inner mind, and is available to me"

and make it

"All that I activate makes a lasting impression on my whole mind and is readily available to me."

You get the idea?
Those things helped me out a bit. Practice also helped, but I have faith that you're performing it enough.

Now, for my question:
You spoke of how "Paul does it on tv", can you, or anyone, tell me where I can see an infomercial on television relating to photoreading in my area (NYC)??????????

I really want to see one, but I've only seen a small part on youtube from an infomercial of Pete photoreading on the computer.

I hope I could help you, Felix

Thanks,
-JackTuff13

Hi Jacktuff, how are you doing?
Yes, Andridem postet an example for what I ment with "TV", because I live over here in Europe, Photoreading isn't on TV, so I have to keep up with the Internet sources.
Jacktuff, I have an question to you, about the reading genius 2.0, how are you doing with it? Are you still using it? Does it help you with activation for example to use it as an Xtra step in the activation progress? And the most importend question, is it worth its price :-)??
regards

Felix hi!

I've tried once again photoreading a chapter, and it took me less than 30 minutes ( most of the time i've spent was writing a mind map) to make it gel for me. I remembered 90-95 percent of material and I did not even get tired.

Now I will train to become a better photoreader, so that maybe someday I won't be needing for example a mind map(mind map really helps).

So you think we should spent this long time for skittering and get just one chapter done? So it would take a newbie 3 hours to activate on chapter, or even more! Damn, thats a long time! When you see it from this point, the "magic" in PRing seems to dissapeer :-(.

It really depends on the chapter.

Since i am a newbie too, we could share our experience... Do you have an MSN Messenger or something?

Best wishes,
AndriDem

Hi Felix.

No that is completely wrong about taking 3 hours to activate a single chapter. Absolutely, completely, totally wrong. And i will tell you another thing that is completely wrong too that has been shared many times on this forum. Do not try to learn photreading on school textbooks or learn photoreading at the same time while learning school subjects. It has been shared many times why it is not a good idea. Do a search on this forum on learning photoreading on textbooks i am sure you will find plenty of information there why it is not a good idea.

3 hours to activate 1 chapter? Wrong. Absolutely no way. Conventionally to learn a textbook with traditional reading it should take you 90 hours. With photoreading it should take you 1/3 of that time 30 hours.

The best advice i can give to you is to photoread only your textbooks and read & study your regular way. School and education is too important to be taking chances on. What i would do if i were you again photoread only and regular read and study your textbooks and there is nothing wrong with photoreading your books multiple times. Then what i would do is find books that have absolutely nothing to do with school say a self help or book of interest say a hobby learn to activate with those books. The books should be basic or simple. What you will find is that you will not have any of this pressure i must make this work so much is riding on me learning to activate this school textbook you will not have that pressure with a book that has nothing to do with school. Remember stress can interfere with the learning process. So if i were you i would activate 15 to 30 of these non-school self help or hobby books and when you get really good at activating those books then transfer that skill to schoolbooks when you really feel confident you know how to activate successfully.

Hi, thanks for your replies!
So, photoread4me, when you say Photoreading is about to bring me 3 times faster through a book I want to read, that is very sad, because I thought, PR is a method to rapidly speed up and do things like read 2 Books a day and get the complete content of these Books. Isnt it?!
Can't we go beyond this point? Be genius? Or did I understand you wrong, now that I think, the potential of this system is limited in this way?
Plese corret me if I'm wrong.

Could you perhaps give me some advice about my concentration problem, while I'm skittering or rapidreading? Tangerine is fine, but is there more:-)?

best regards

Have you tried some breathing exercises or chanting?
