I guess you are saying that the examples books contain question that are similar to exam and no theory are include in the book, so u are photoreading lots of question related to exam ( and the answer I guess). If I guess it correctly, I will suggest u photoreading lots of Math and Physics text books and use the examples for activation to the text book. For Maths, it will be doing question for practice.
Like u said in the question, photoread the example and activate it, this's actually sound weid, you are PRing the example book + answer and u activate using the examples and look up the answer at the back? assuming you cannot recall lot of things like Pete do..... So, I will suggest like I said, photoread text book + example book. activate the text book using the example
