Babayada,

You say that you have had practiced with Open Focus. Have you had more success with it than with holosync? I have tried them both, and at least for me, the Open Focus has been better by far.

Having used hundreds of meditation techniques, I would also recommend the Open Focus technique over Centerpointe Holosync.

Centerpointe requires listening to the CDs and creates chaos in the brain in an attempt to apply Ilya Prigogine's theories.

Open Focus can be done without listening to the rccordings. It requires your active participation and concentration as you focus your attention on the exercises. Holosync does not require any attention or concentration and you can just drift off to sleep.

Open Focus more approximates the mind state of zazen meditation. Its benefits are greater.

I have a brief encounter with the open Focus tapes. I bought the first set and listened to them for about a month. I didn't get the book with my order. Then I put the tapes away. I would like to hear about other's experience with Open Focus. I am thinking of digging the tapes out of my closet and trying again. Maybe I need to get the Open Focus Book? Maybe I need to stick with the program for longer than a month? And then move on to the following sets of tapes? Please post your results of Open Focus and how long you have been practicing it! Thanks!

Frankly, I think that Centerpointe's description of what goes on in the brain (physical structure) as a result of their tapes is complete garbage and totally unsubstantiated. The fundamental organization of the brain is not restructured by listening to binaural beat frequencies. Sorry. I think it is Bill Harris's attempt to describe something that does go on in the MIND with certain kinds of meditation. He uses pieces of scientific thought to try and lend his marketing crap an air of credibility and scientific interest. Like what he is doing is somehow advanced and at the forefront of human thought. It's masturbation and bs. They are freaking tones, people. Tones. Not enlightenment in a bottle.

What results are you looking for in holosync or open focus? Open Focus can certainly help in a lot of ways. To tell you the truth, for certain results, it got me where I wanted to be quicker.

Honestly, I use binaural beat frequency stuff (I currently use the awakened mind cd every once in a while) because I like the way it makes me feel. Period. I have not gotten any major results from it. It has not made me feel enlightened, only entranced. It puts you in a certain brain state, that's it.

Open Focus does something very specific ... whereas the binaural beat frequency stuff is kinda sloppy. You can go here or there with it, depending on what's on your mind. Open Focus will lead you to think in a very specific way and use your mind in a particular way.

I had immediate results with it. But that might just be because I am somehow predisposed to having those results with that particular technique. I don't know.

Don't shell out bucks to a stupid marketing scheme that keeps you immobile with bs and promises so it can keep its proboscis inserted into your wallet and suck suck suck.

If interested in binaural beat technology, try hemi-sync, awakened mind, or one of a slew of other reasonably priced alternatives.

Well I for one have had ASTOUNDING results from the use of Holosync and will continue to use it and HIGHLY recommend it to others.

Traditional meditation takes many years to see any real benefits. So why not kickstart the process? I have seen people who knock Holosync in this thread talk about raising their consciousness by as much as possible in the little time we have. It seems to be a contradiction.

I have been meditating naturally nearly all my life and am one of the lucky people that can switch between brain states when required. All my life I knew I had a gift. I didn't even have to try at school I simply listened and could recall the material when I wanted. Anything under 90% was a fail to me and I have never failed a thing in my life. Some teachers accused me of cheating because I only wrote down answers and never had any working out. I simply told them to test me again or watch me next time. They all eventually believed me but told me that if I put my working out down and got it wrong, if I followed the correct method I would still get points. I told them I was happy enough with a 95% - 98% average.

Then I had some very traumatic events happen in my mid to late teens. I couldn't deal with them, I didn't know how and I had no one to turn to. I bottled it all up and being small I found that this anger was useful. People that bullied me found that they would cop it and it all stopped very quickly. So I bottled up everything that happened in the future. I became a very aggressive person and I turned to drugs and used copious amounts of nearly every substance there is available for many years. I just wanted to escape reality and become numb. Eventually I wanted to end it all. I had so much crap in my unconscious I couldn't think straight any more and I was operating only on one side of my brain seeing all the dualities of the world and thinking everyone was against me.

I could never take my own life though because of the pain it would have caused my family and friends. So I made a conscious decision to take the reins of my life back. I deeply regretted the path I had taken and was still living in a world of suffering and depression. I didn't think it was possible to regain what I had lost. But knew I could at least still function at an above average capacity as I had done through my years of turmoil. (I had still been quite successful, finishing a degree in computer science as well as making the Dean's list and securing my dream job afterwards)

Then I stumbled across Holosync in a newspaper advertisement. I tried the sample and knew that it would work for me! Now my life has been turned around. My thought processes are clear again, I have nearly dealt with all my past trauma, I enjoy other peoples company and they mine. I am now more successful than ever before in my adult life and can see boundless opportunities ahead. I know that one day I will get back all the function of my brain that I thought I had lost forever and more! In fact I am seeing more and more of this every day. But the best thing is that I can now see how I have created everything that has happened in my own life.

Not only have the mental effects been profound but also the physical aspects of it too. I now sleep better than I ever have in my entire life, I have more energy than ever before and all the little muscle spasms and twitches (from prolonged substance abuse I believe) have dissappeared.

I can now also naturally meditate much deeper and with more ease (and benefit) than ever before as a result of my use of Holosync.

I am sorry that I have gotten very personal in this post. Believe me I haven't even touched on what I have been through or what I did to my body and mind to escape reality.

The point I am trying to make however is that just because something hasn't worked for yourself doesn't mean that it won't have a different effect on another individual. Enlightened masters know that every student is different and must have a personally tailored program for them to gain their full potential.

Holosync is merely a tool and shouldn't be depended on as mentioned above. It is not the be all and end all and many other areas need to be explored also. There are many other great ideas mentioned in this thread that can be used also for hemispheric synchronisation.

Unless you are one of the lucky few that have the chance to study under an enlightened master you will have to get out there and try things for yourself. Don't always believe everything that others tell you. If you think Holosync may benefit yourself ask for one of there free sample CD's and judge for yourself.

Oh, and I think that the marketing of Holosync does look very tacky also. If I hadn't tried the demo before reading the material I probably would have thrown it in the bin without even trying it. You don't judge a book by its cover though do you?

Best wishes in your search for happiness and enlightenment
